Striding in, her brows lifted as she quirked a slight smirk. “I don’t think that would technically be possible on this ship, actually, but no, I was hoping to have a few moments of your time.”
Teller chuckled. “I suppose that’s true.”
It was, in most cases, better to simply get to the point, and so Cori did as she stood before his desk. “It was suggested by the counsellor, that I might look at pursuing some sort of work outside of my… unique existence. While I can and will help the crew with matters of the ship’s systems, it’s… not very fulfilling. I was a scientist before and I think I’d like to work in that realm again, see what things intrigue me.” Her all-too vibrant eyes assessed Teller as she spoke, knowing, like many he was on the fence about her sentience, even if she had been a fully flesh and blood being assigned to the ship.

“You have interest in the sciences?” Teller asked the tone indicating that the question wasn’t quite as simple as it sounded.
“I would think that it would be more ‘explorative’ if you worked in a more creative field,” He paused as he tried to think of some programs like that. The only role he could come up with was cooking.
Graham CSO
Well, he wouldn’t have been the first one to dismiss her life before and he likely wouldn’t be the last. “You… do realize I graduated the Academy in the top ten percent of my class with a major in biology and a minors in geology and ecology. I grant you that my opportunity to show my science skills after the Academy was cut short rather dramatically but living things and their environment are still interests, even if I have the entire Federation Library accessible to me at any second.” Corinne tried not to sound too impatient, but she wasn’t that ensign fresh out of the Academy anymore and hadn’t been for many years.

Teller seemed amused, “I’m not questioning your ability or even your interest, I’m questioning the department’s the value to you. As you said you have the complete and combined knowledge of all Federation sciences as your fingertips. So what is there to learn and grow for you in science? You could pick another field where you have more an opportunity to grow and learn about what make you ‘happy.’”
He pause, “But if you think science would make you happy, far be it for me to deny myself a hand with such skills.”
