Sickbay was moderately busy but it was a pretty usual day of physicals and minor injuries, rather than anything overly serious. Finishing up with one patient, Ensign Greiner moved to the back of Sickbay where the administration section was so that he could input some data and double check a few things. After a couple minutes, he downloaded several things onto a PADD and looked around.

Spying the new Chief, he moved over to where Harrison was was working and held out the PADD. “Here you go, Chief. It’s the supply stats you were asking for.”

Without looking up from the viewscope he was peering through at some particularly nasty common cold cultures, Harrison tapped the desk next to him “Put them over there, please Ensign, I’ll take a look in a few seconds.” He sighed audibly. A common cold. The universal incurable illness. What a colossal strain on his 12 years of medical expertise…

Doctor Nathaniel Harrison (CMO)

“Aye, Chief,” He said and began to turn around.

To the side of Harrison and Greiner, the air shimmered and coalesced into a form that was pretty familiar to most of the Sickbay staff. Greiner though had leaned over to set the PADD down and when he turned back, he was centimetres from her face. The Ensign cursed under his breath. “Geez, Cori! Can’t you give people a little warning?” he said, taking a step back.

She flicked her long raven hair off her shoulders of her sciences blue uniform, gazing at Greiner with amusement in her electric blue eyes. “And I keep telling you, Shawn, to be mindful of where the emitters are. This is the safest place to appear, unless you want me sitting on your patients.”

He bit back a grumbling retort. “Have you met the new Chief yet?”

“Can’t say I have,” Dalton said, looking over at Nathaniel. She stepped closer and smiled, gazing deeply at the man even as she stuck out a hand. “Lieutenant Corinne Dalton, resident ghost in the machine, know-it-all, and sometimes medic, should you ever require an extra set of hands.”

“You forgot pain-in-the-ass,” Greiner said, feigning seriousness.

“A girl has to get her fun somewhere. You’re just too easy.”
