Flynn’s smile widened as he saw Ember’s smile dim, a feeling of victory shot through him as he read her body language. Gordon was no competition, at least where Ember was concerned, Flynn had already won. “If you could help that would be wonderful,” Flynn said, “I’m itching to get started. Sir.”

SecSha tapped the door pad and walked in to see three people in a room she had imagined only one would be one in. “Ensign Ember, glad you are here. Are the reports done?” She ignored the Chief and Flynn. Her telltale Klingon ridges were obvious on her face, but her hair, normally worn loose and long by the Klingons, was pulled back in a loose braid to the small of her back. She held her hand out towards the woman.
“Yes, Ma’am… both schedules and personnel evals for second and third shift.” Ember glanced at Flynn and winked with a smile before once more steeling her features and looking back at the Security Chief.
Sha glanced at them and nodded. “Good… I’ll go over them. Your eval is tomorrow at shift start. And btw, I believe you met Flynn, our newest officer?” For the first time, she glanced at him and acknowledged his presence. She then nodded to the Chief. “And I see, Flynn, that you and Master Chief Gordon have met?” Glancing at Ember, she nodded towards the door. “He’s your new partner tomorrow, Ember. Go make sure there is a gear pack and phaser set for him please. I’ll see you in the morning at shift change.” She dismissed the girl with a nod.
Ember nodded. “Yes, Ma’am. Glad to have met you Flynn. I’ll see you later.” She winked once more and headed for the door with a glance at Gordon. “Good evening, Master Chief,” she said and disappeared into the hallway.
Sha nodded to Gordon and moved to sit behind her desk. “Whatcha got for me Master Chief?” She said glanced up at him as one hand absently brought up the info Ember had given her on the padd she set on her desk.
