=======================
12 hours later.

“Dah....Dah....Dante,” Daye yelled sitting upright in the bed. The silk sheets slid off her body as her hand reached out to the left. Dante was always on her left. She had to find him. Her pulse raced as she fought off the fog of sleep desperate to find the man she loved. She thought she had gotten over this. The reoccurring dream that he was gone and never coming back. A counselor once told her it was due to the long weeks apart and the dangers of his job. She could buy that reasoning in the past but not this time. This time it was more tangible. As if she was watching him slip away from her. As her eyes focused on the room, Daye saw that she was in her hotel suite. The balcony door was not open but was there. The table with the coffee and fresh fruits and pancakes was waiting for them but in the room not outside of it. The reassuring smell of coffee filled the room. Everything was as it should be and would be perfect the second she could find out where Dante was.

“God these two are going to get old. I mean who doesn’t love the undersea rooms. Fish and aquariums are therapeutic,” a security officer said to his counterpart.

“Yeah apparently they did not get the memo. This is going to be a long 8 months if we have to keep resetting them every 24 hours. I mean it has been a long 4 days already doing it. Why won’t that guy just sit back with a beer and chill the frack out. His profile says he wanted only sedentary activities this trip. Butt in the sand and toes in the beach sort of stuff but every day he is the one fighting us. If he doesn’t back it down they will take more permanent measure of memory removal and that is always messy,” the second guy said.

“I’m here love,” Dante’s voice came to her from the other side of the room, and when she looked she would see him heading back in her direction with a silver tray filled with plates and two steaming cups of coffee.

Natasha had a wild look in her eye as she fixated her gaze on Dante making his way across the room. The dream had seemed so real. Her heart was still racing in her chest. Nat’s breath came in sharp hard puffs as if she was still in the dream.

“I promised you coffee when we woke up from our nap, remember?” He said and slid onto the bed beside her, to her left. “After what we just did the last few hours, I thought you might be hungry as well.” He grinned at her and his lips found her cheek, then slid to her ear for a playful nibble before pulling away to look her in her big, beautiful eyes.

“Bacon sandwiches, made just how you like them.” He placed the tray at their feet and picked up the two coffee cups, but he placed these on the side tables to either side of them and then turned back to her. “You know you are gorgeous when you sleep?” His hand moved to her, and gently caressed her tummy and waist with just his fingertips while he looked at her. “I wanted to let you sleep just a little longer, so I could lay beside you and watch you snore.”

“You left me,” she snapped, “to make coffee when you should have been here.” Daye sat on the bed and ran her hands through her hair as if frustrated.

“I was here, watching you the whole time baby.” Dante said to Tasia softly, and he sat on his side and waited for her to come back to him. “That’s why I asked you to live with me, remember?” His voice was calm, soothing, and the sound of how much he cared for and adored her was clear as he spoke. “No more being alone, not for us my love. I’ve been away from you for too long, too many years. It’s time for us now.” He reached out and gently touched her arm, “come here my love, lay with me and have coffee.”

“I just had this dream and it was soooo real,” she said moving closer to Dante so that her body was pressed against his. Pulling him down towards the bed, Daye pressed into his chest with her back so that they were curled up with his breath cascading down her neck as he laid behind her. “I was alone and you weren’t here…there,” she stumbled over her words as she waited for the feeling to pass. This feeling was not new. She had episodes where she felt like this over the years when Dante was gone; however, now he was here to chase away the demons. There was no need to wake him from halfway across the galaxy to comfort her. He was just inches away. Pulling his arms tight around her she let out a small laugh.

“I’m sorry,” Dante said to her, whispering it from just behind her. Of course what he did in her dream wasn’t actually his fault, but he felt that apologizing for it anyway was only going to be a good thing, and he needed to make her smile and relax. He didn’t know why exactly, but he knew that the last thing he wanted was for her to be stressed out or worried about anything. Holding her tighter to him, he kissed her neck softly. “I promise I’ll do better next time I’m in your dream.”

“God I have no idea why I was just so mad at you,” she started to laugh more. “I mean yes you should be held completely accountable for all the doofus things I make up in my mind when I am asleep. So maybe you should just start apologizing now so that we can move this day along,” Natasha tried not to laugh at the absurdity of her statement. Being with Dante solved every problem she ever had. He met her crazy and upped the ante like a bizarre chess match.

“We could always move straight to the part where we physically make up,” Dante teased her, “I’ve always found that works a whole lot better with you than just saying sorry. Maybe we could pretend that we have a lot of arguments today, or your just really jealous of me being around the women here and I need to show you just how much I love you and need you? Maybe show you just how much this old dog has left to give over these young bucks who think they are in their prime?”

He pushed himself over slightly so that he was physically over her, but raised an eyebrow in question. “But you know the coffee will go stone cold and the bacon sandwiches are better hot, right? I didn’t get out of a warm, snuggly bed beside the woman I love to make coffee and bacon that will go to waste,” he reached out and picked up her cup, bringing it back so she could sit up on the pillows and drink, “so drink up, my little Russian cossack, we have a day full of being together to get started. I feel like going out and spending some time with you, lets go shopping, make the Saracen’s transporters struggle under the weight of things you don’t need.”

Looking over to the side table, he looked around for his comm-badge. “Maybe I should tell the ship we are going to be a few days late? Or they can get our things early and we can go on a yacht trip for a couple of days.”
