“Sir, there are no contaminants in the air, water, or food,” Kalani muttered more than annoyed. “And I am talking to my superior not you,” she made it clear that right now Jarred Alindor was the last person she wanted to talk to.

“I can’t stay here, I’ve been called to the bridge… You get this in order. ” Teller pointed to Corinne Dalton, as an inorganic, lifeform or not, she wasn’t being affected in the same way as the rest of the crew seemed to be.

Dalton gave a two-fingered salute, amused slightly that this seemed to be her official foray back into the science department.

“Sweetie I am always both.” Jarred said as he rolled his eyes at her.

“We are all going to die,” a science crewman suddenly blurted out from the back of the room. He had a wild look in his eye that was far worse than any anger. It was not simply fear but sheer and utter panic. “We are all going to die and rot here. We can’t drink the water,” he said breathing heavy but still as a statue.

“Joe calm down,” a female science crewman snapped irritated about his outburst. The fight going on between the department heads and the uptight little climatologist was just getting good. She was ready to see an all outfight happen and Joe was going to ruin it.

“We can’t eat the food. We are going to die. Die,” his voice became almost shrill as the look in his eye went from panic to the look of a man ready to fight for his life. “Get me outta here. Get me outta here!” He punctuated his statement with a bolt to the door. It was not a run nor hurried hustle as they all exhibited during a red alert. It was a man running to save his life. Joe shoved two men down and pushed a woman over a workstation as he ran out a side door. His outburst caused several others to join him as if it were a stampede.

The NE crewman’s reaction was not the anger she and Jarred seemed to be experiencing but no less visceral. Her mind worked overtime trying to figure out what was going on. Humans were animals and followed the same set biological principals. She just had to stop being so damn mad at Jarred and think straight. Glancing around the room she noticed one striking thing that stood out like a sore thumb.

“Dalton, why are you not peeved off at the galaxy,” Kalani snapped. “You have emotions right?” The comment sounded insensitive but so far she was the only one that seemed to have a cool head and an almost bemused “what the heck is going on” expression. Corrine was in all intents and purposes a human still with the same range of emotions even if she was a hologram or something of that sort. So why was she the only one not reacting like they were scared to death or ready to rip someone’s head off.

“Of course she does, I know more than anyone the anger she can possess… but she doesn’t have human systems… she…” Jarred wondered, what if Cori was contaminated. If this was not in the air it could be another form. Things can affect systems like radiation, Cori could be just as vulnerable.

Alindor, CE

Dalton stood there, arms akimbo. “I can answer for myself,” she said dryly. “And yes, I have emotions. The full range of them. But I’m not affected by things like hormones or environmental factors. If the ship is damaged, sure, then I feel pain, but things work differently for me now. Be thankful I’m not affected by whatever is affecting you, because someone has to keep a clear head around here.”

The main science console pinged as it began to report about the Class 4 Pulsar and dichromatic nebula that the Saracen was approaching.

GM Nosferatu

Cori heard the sound and moved over t the console swiftly.

OOC: Okay, I’m having time line issues. If I’m working on this exact problem on the bridge how can I be here now as its escalating? Should I turn this probelm over.

OOC: I am assuming at some point you have left for the bridge. You can decide when that was in this thread. I have just assumed you had left at some point. Kalena and Corinne are here in Science and can look after things here.

GM Nosferatu

OOC: works for me.

From the Bridge, the 2nd officer’s voice cam over the comm. =^=All ships station and departments, status report.=^=

Leaning on one hand on the console, Dalton drowned. “Class Four Pulsar and a dichromatic nebula, which means gravimetric distortions. Fun,” she said dryly. “Navigating that could be tricky. They’re intense and highly variable.”

She the responded to the comm, knowing that Graham was up on the bridge and able to read the same data they were down there. =/\=Science Labs, Dalton here. Just trying to keep the peace and looking into that pulsar and nebula. Dichromatic nebulas are known to have intense gravimetric distortions, as I’m sure you’re well aware. Also, I’m currently mobile, just so know, so if you need me intervening in the computer, you’ll have to ask nicely and give me time to make it happen.=/\=

“Do you think Izzy will be able to do it? Navigate the field,” Kalani asked.

Lt Kalani Kane medical

Dalton shrugged. “I don’t know her well enough to know. There are ways to improve navigational response, but I’d have to jump into the system and I’m not sure I’m keen on it for that purpose just now.”

~Corinne Dalton

OOC: Bump…I have been waiting for the science team to do more intense scans on the pulsar and dichromic nebula…also there is a probe to find:)
