Maji began to make the rounds of sickbay, singling out those who exhibited the strongest signs of anger and rage. It wasn’t just the men who couldn’t seem to sit down and behave, some women were just as aggressive. She passed out tranquilizer hyposprays to the most senior of the medical people with instructions to sedate the troublemakers. Of course, the unruly patients didn’t want to be sedated, so that was a fight in itself. However, it was the safest thing to do until medical got word on what was causing the emotional outbursts.

The tranquilizers were found to work as it tended to sedate the crew though of course it would not allow them to be conscious and effective enough to work.

As one of the medical staff came near her with a hypospray, Enina’s hand automatically reached out to knock it away as her green eyes narrowed in an intense glare. “Don’t come near me,” she screeched, her voice taking a remarkably high pitch as she threw herself away from the offending person. “Or do and I’ll show you what I’ve got,” she added with a haughty stare as she slammed a foot back into the wall shared between the CMO’s office and the main sickbay, leaving a rather surprisingly sized dent given the tensile strength of the wall and the expected strength of the young woman. She crossed her arms protectively across her chest and dared the young staff member to come near her.

Ensign Nox, Eng

OOC: It seems that Andy has left the Saracen and Dave is putting me in as the CMO, so I’ll post as if Andy is still in this thread, but with a little more authority :/

IC:
Maji held her hands out to halt the approach of all medical personnel. They didn’t need an angry, crazy, engineer running amok in sickbay, and Nox appeared to be just that. The doctors hand flashed to the left and activated her comm badge. =/\=Security, send a team to Sickbay, STAT!=/\= Light, blue eyes caught the attention of two strong, young, medics and a quick motion of her head had them post themselves in front of the door to the corridor. “Ensign, we aren’t going to hurt you. We just want you to calm down. Your fear and anger aren’t your fault. Many of us are dealing with the same issues, but its from an outside source. So that you aren’t a danger to yourself or anyone else, we need to…stabilize you for a little while. You can let NESwenson give you an injection of a sedative, or we can have Security stun you when they arrive. I’d offer to transport you to the brig, but I’m pretty sure they already have their hands full.” She looked around at all the officers who had already been dosed. “You can see they’re all fine, just resting. Like I said, we don’t want to hurt you, just calm you down.”

—Maji

Rationality certainly didn’t seem to be Enina’s strong suit at the moment as she hissed at both the NE brandishing a hypospray and the uniformed doctor in front of her. “I don’t need to be calmed down,” she shouted at Maji, her voice carrying remarkably well throughout the room. “And don’t you dare come near me!” she added, dropping her arms and readying a defensive stance with her hands clenched in fists at her side. Her blue eyes flashed wildly as she caught sight of a medical tray nearby and leapt to snatch it up, holding it protectively against herself as a shield.

Ensign Nox, Eng

=^= Acknowledge Doctor. Security is on their way.=^= Ensign Flynn’s voice responded calmly through the comm line.

The Chief was going to have to stall as long as she could in order to wait for security to arrive. “If you’re alright, if you aren’t affected by whatever’s hampering the crew, then sit down and be still. If you can do that, there won’t be any need to restrain you.” It was a chance for Nox to prove she was truly fit for duty. If she couldn’t, then security and/or sedatives were still an option.

—Maji

At that moment, two security officers entered Sickbay, one with his phaser at the ready. Immediately spying the tensions between the doctor and the Ensign, Fraiser signalled to Mike to lower his phaser and made his way over to them. “What’s going on Doctor?” the handsome young man asked calmly. Looking between Maji and Nox. Despite having run to sickbay, there was no sign of it in his features, or voice. Even his hair was perfectly in place.

OOC: I’m so sorry its taken me this long to respond. I have had a week of cluster migraines!!!

IC:
Security showed up within two minutes, so the standoff between Maji and Nox was brief. Glancing at the man to her left and then back to the female engineer, the doctor spoke up. “Something is affecting the emotions of the crew. Not everyone is showing signs, but a good portion are. Ensign Nox,” here she nodded her head toward the woman behind the medical tray, “is one of them. She won’t submit to a sedative and is being confrontation with my staff. I can’t have that here in Sickbay. So, either she lets us give her a hypo, or she’s your responsibility.”

Maji took a step back, changing the dynamics of the situation. She still held the sedative in her hand and was ready to administer it, but she was backing off to see if Security would have better luck convincing Nox to submit to it.

—Maji, CMO

Fraiser turned to look at the other woman and flashed one of his trademark charming smiles. “Ensign Nox is it?” He asked softly, his tone just as charming as his smile, “Ensign Flynn,” he introduced, “I don’t think we’ve had the pleasure of meeting yet. Can you explain why you won’t let the doctor treat you?” The Ensign was only a few years younger than he was, and he hoped that, combined his good looks, and by offering to listen to her, that they could calm her down enough to reason with her.

As the CMO was trying to deal with her new patient the ship suddenly lurched and explosions could be heard somewhere outside of sickbay, definitely on the same deck though. The lights and power in Sickbay flickered and dimmed, emergency lighting suddenly taking over.

GM Nosferatu

Her hand automatically hit the combadge on her left shoulder. =/\=Bridge, Sickbay here. We are full up with patients in danger of being thrown around. What’s going on?=/\=

She didn’t even pause before the next order. “Activate restraints on all beds.” The medical personnel began doing just that, moving as quickly as they could. There was still the problem of Ens Nox to deal with. Maji turned to the handsome security officer. “She’s your problem now. If you can talk her into sedation, let me know. Otherwise…take her to the brig unless you want to babysit her here.”

—Maji, CMO

“I’ll talk to her,” The security officer smiled, confident in his ability to deal with Nox. “I’m sure she’ll make the right choice,”

Ens. Flynn
Security

OOC: Anything else going to happen here?

OOC: Ah sorry, I’ve been away. Was hoping Nox would jump in and move it on while I was away, but I see she’s been removed from the roster. So I can write something as Flynn to wrap this up, or we can just assume that between them they were able to admin the hypo.

The doors of sickbay were constantly opening as more injured streamed in or were helped in by their more able bodied crew members. All were in a state of great agitation due to the levels of radiation on the ship as well as from the pain of their injuries. Basically sickbay had become pandemonium central. That or a nuthouse.

GM Nosferatu

Maji and her team had their hands full. There was a constant rotation of disagreeable officers, suffering passionate emotions of frustration and anger. Some cases were more severe, where others were fairly mild. The doctors were able to calm most of them down with the range of available drugs on hand, but seating was nearing its limits. “I think we’re going to have to start directing people to an alternate area.”

—Maji, CO

After sucessfully using his charm to get close enough Nox that he was able to administrate the sedative the doctor had given him so that she could be taken care of, Fraiser moved around Sickbay keeping an eye out for any paticular patients that were looking more agitated or agressive. “I can help with the minor injuries, if you want.” He offered, “My ex-girlfriend was a doctor, she… taught me the basics of medical treatment,” he shrugged casually, and flashed the CMO one of his smiles, “bruises, broken bones and the like.”
