Hey team, I hope everybody is ok and that your families are doing well during these times. Things have been insane busy here even though in NZ we had a pretty complete lockdown, only supermarkets and pharmacies were allowed to be open. Despite that enforced ‘holiday’ it hasn’t been quiet for us and many of us here, like I am sure many of you are feeling the fatigue.

An unfortunate result of these times is that our GM, Sam has needed to step away from the role to focus on a few more important matters, and he has my best wishes, support and thoughts with him at this time. I’ve reached out to a couple of people about the GM role and in the meantime, I will look to keep it going myself until at least we secure a new GM. Please carry on with your threads and if you have thoughts on something you’d like to try my inbox is always open.

On a more positive note, welcome to J Ridgley who is playing our new Security Officer, Ella Lokaa. I’ve been really impressed with J’s writing of her so far.

Lastly, I’m always here if you need to chat about your char or let me know you are struggling to be creative and post. With things the way they are I’m not going to be pushing anyone to post for a while yet and I haven’t been cracking down on Awols if you go over a little. From chatting to many people in our discord room, many of us are just fatigued in general and I prefer the Saracen being a positive place to weather the storm.

I’ll update everyone when we find our new GM, but in the meantime, everyone stay safe.

-Dave

Welcome, J Ridgley! I can’t wait to RP with you.

As to the rest of your message, I want to say thank you Dave for your patience and candor with posting limits. I will admit striving to create a balance in a “new normal” is hard. Life seems to fluctuate daily from “wow I can nap” to “wait it is 11 pm.” Everyone’s life is different. Thank you for understanding. It is appreciated. ~ Kate

I wish everyone a safe and sane lockdown. I think from NZ to the UK to those of us in the US, these are trying time. I have chars on this ship (and 16 more fleet wide) that are available 24/7 to post with if you just want character building or nonsense. My Discord is always up and open on my cell and I can be reached that way as well. I love this ship and look forward to long time on her. And to that end, willing to help and keep us rolling in whatever way I can.... Meli the Mobstress

Welcome aboard, J!!

It’s unfortunate that Sam had to step down, I’ve always enjoyed Mirror universe stuff and was looking forward to see where this went. BUT, I do completely understand. As someone with a compromised immune system (kidney/pancreas transplant in 2004), I struggle everyday with what I want to do and with what I need to do.

I struggle with teaching from home (too many simple distractions-mainly the kitchen), and miss many of my students!!! At least I get to exchange emails with many of them on a daily basis. We all just have to keep on, keeping on!!!

–Terry
