“They did when I came down. I say we head to engineering. I mean they are the best to fix this situation and probably know more than we do. Besides if you are worried about the turbos we can use the Jeffries tubes to get between floors,” she said in a chipper tone. “Think of like an adventure. Let’s go,” she gestured to the door.

“Jefferies tubes it is, then,” Cori said, grabbing a kit. “Might want to grab yourself a palm bacon.

OOC: Palm Bacon, the essential piece of kit in any emergency :P had to say it, it made me grin

OOC: If you’re going to have a typo, might as well have it be amusing.

The holographic woman slipped out of the lab and looked over her shoulder, knowing it was at least a place she knew for sure she could come back to. “The best access point is two sections forward. Will give us a straight climb down to Deck Twelve.” It was going to be a hike, but under the circumstances it was the better option. She wasn’t sure Kalani actually understood the severity of the situation going on. Would anyone, aside from Jarred and maybe the Captain and Sinclair? Would they understand that by not having full access to the computer something catastrophic had happened? It shouldn’t be even possible, given how integrated she was in the ship’s systems. And therein lay her deep fear. But for now she could submerge it until presented with more information.

They hadn’t taken more than a few steps when the lighting dropped once more, and every visible console they could see began to flash with the alternating symbols of the Terran Empire and the Federation, as if both were vying for control over the system. A slight shudder ran through the deck as here and there down the corridor, sparks ignited from conduits briefly before stopping.

“Whoa,” Dalton said, her electric blue eyes widening. It was worse than she thought.

Moving closer to a console, Kalani reached out to touch it. The display was flickering like something from a horror movie. The images were interchanging so rapidly it was hard to figure out what was going on. As her fingertips brushed the glass sparks erupted making Kalani shrink back grumbling a few curses.

For Cori, she would still seem to be locked out of the computer systems although there seemed some kind of access, sporadic and brief, but there in moments and gone the next. In those moments different feelings would reach her, as if they were hers but not hers. Urges that weren’t strong enough to act on, fleeting but there. An urge to watch her back around people, a feeling of ambition, that she should be Captain. An urge to dress more provocatively and draw attention to herself. Then, they were gone for a moment, then back again as the symbols changed. Sometimes, Corie could almost feel her connection with the computer restored, information she sought just out of reach. Confusion on the Bridge? Trouble in Engineering? It was all so jumbled.

It was like being momentarily possessed and that was honestly more frightening than anything that had gone through her mind at this point. If the computer was having an identity crises due to an intrusion, it would explain a lot. But the strange urges had shaken Cori slightly. “Not good,” she muttered.

Slapping at her comm badge, Kalani again tried to reach Jarred getting only empty air. “How is your power supply,” Kalani snapped looking back at Cori. “I know you are hyper-focusing on it but you need to get over it. Right now anything could happen to us all so stop thinking you are so special. We are all in this together. You have just as much chance of running out of your power supply as I do of getting electrocuted,” she shook her fingers which were still tingling from the slight electrical shock. “Let’s get to engineering,” she began to crawl again angry and frustrated at the situation. Cori was probably going to get an attitude again after Kalani’s comment. The one emotion Cori could tap into was the one Kalani wanted to deal with the least. Her mind was on Jarred and Elizabeth right now. Elizabeth had to be scared out of her mind. Even more than Jarred, that was who Kalani was hyper focusing on.

Who peed in her cereal this morning? Cori thought to herself. Kalani didn’t know her at all,a dn she certainly couldn’t read her mind. She wasn’t hyperfocused on her emitter at all. What she was focused on was bigger than herself. With an eyeroll, she followed Kalani into the jefferies tubes.

Ella flinched as another console flickered between the federation symbol and what she recognised as the Terran Empires from her studies at the Academy. She had accessed one of the ships weapons lockers and with phaser drawn and with the light attachment on she scanned the area in front of her. Noticing that internal communication down it was difficult to comprehend what was happening however with the presence of the Terran logo she could only speculate that Terran Operatives had assumed control of the ship or was at least trying to and was heading to a Jeffries tube down to the most likely places, engineering. From up ahead she could hear voices as another bout of dizziness washed over her, suddenly she felt lost and unsure of herself, her clothes had changed they were rags and bloody but before the feeling of dread had taken control she was back and now in her view were two figures. “Who’s there” She called out through the dark, flashing her light in their direction.

“Kalani and Cori,” she called out. “Are you okay?” Ella seemed to be having what Kalani’s mom called a moment. Typically it was when someone became dizzy or was about to pass out. “Lokaa,” Kalani repeated bringing a hand to her eyes. Blinking she worked the spots from her eyes.

Dalton wanted to make a funny remark to the security ensign, but circumstances weren’t appropriate.

Coming fully into view she nodded in the direction of Kalani and Cori, the later she recognized and was glad to see some friendly faces. “I’m… Ok, I just…” Ella had to think how to explain her sudden emotional change which all but knocked her on her butt. “I just had this feeling of terror, anger, and misery like I was here but somewhere else and… The Terran empire.” She said eyes now wide looking to the consoles which had returned to their normal state. “Cori do you have any access to the ships internal sensors I think we may have been boarded even just how many bio signs there are compared to our current ships manifest.”
~Ens. Ella Lokaa

“No,” Cori replied with an edge to her voice. “I seem to be disconnected from the computer and I don’t know why. I have small amounts of access, but not across systems. Comms are down too. We’re heading to engineering.”

~Corinne Dalton

Kalani thought about what Ella said and placed the image she had seen flickering on the console. “So you think we went through an interphasic rift,” she looked at both women in her group. “It would explain the feelings of anger and paranoia.” This concerned Kalani far more than people boarding the ship. It was a well-known fact that when one was exposed to interphase their neurological tissue began to degrade. The effects didn’t make a difference with humanoids based on sex or age so if they were experiencing it so where the kids. Kalani was realized she was exhibiting more of the paranoia effects because of her relationship with Elizabeth. The last thing she wanted was for her future stepdaughter to be alone going through this and that was making Kalani’s mind race with the what-ifs. Reaching up she tapped her comm badge again praying for any kind of connection yet still there was nothing but dead air.

‘Damn’ Thought Ella as she looked between the two people in front of her, “Engineering is a good start if there anyone who can get things back online it’ll either be from their or the bridge.” ‘And if we’ve been boarded they’ll be the likely places they’re trying to capture first’ She thought before also adding in Cori’s direction. “How long can that sustain your?” She asked not trying sound intrusive but she wanted to make sure she count on her holographic friend.
