SNIP

Vadoma was sitting at the engineering station and piped up. “Engines set and ready for warp on your command, Captain,” she nodded with reassurance as she finished her checks.

Giving a look at Dante, the XO was almost certain that it was moment of a rescue “Orders, Hauptmann?” he waited for a command to be given “All stations are ready.”

Lieutenant Commander Yuri Scholz - XO

Dante ran the name through his mind for a moment, but the planets name didn’t sound familiar to him. That wasn’t unusual with the hundreds of Planets out there, but at least it didn’t ring any immediate warning bells.

Glancing at Royal, Dante nodded slightly to indicate that the Chief of Security could go ahead and give him any information that he could find on the names given, then he looked back to the woman in the automated message. One of their Phaser arrays was still down after their previous adventure, but the ship was still more than Capable of performing her mission. “What do we have on this planet Drixov?”

Captain Knight, CO

Graham turned slightly in his seat to look at the Captain awaiting his orders.

Graham

The coordinates that the signal appeared to be coming from did not match the coordinates for the planet Drixov given in the database.

-GM SEMAJ

“Teller is the beacon broadcasting a copy of the message, or is it receiving a signal from elsewhere?” Dante asked the Science Chief. “What do we know about the inhabitants of Drixov?”

Captain Knight, CO

“it is coming from a transceiver buoy. It is in a system, I presume its the same one.” The tone did not convey confidence. He began scanning for the additional information the Captain requested.

Graham

There was no information in the database if Drixov was inhabited or not. There were multiple entries of sensor interference.

Sinclair brought up the information and put it on the Captain’s readout. “Drixov is 9ne of a few planets orbiting a gas giant located in the Drix system. Not much on the planet itself except initial survey data. The atmosphere is 60% nitrogen and 40% oxygen. No further exploration because of some unknown interference.”

Sinclair, CoS

“40%?” Dante asked, looking around at the Chief of Security, “I’m no doctor but if I remember my high school science right, that’s not a good level for most of us to be breathing.” Sitting down, Dante looked at Yuri. “Number One, inform Dr Knight to prepare hypo’s for an away team in an Oxygen rich environment, or see what she recommends. Helm, set course for Drixov. Warp 9.”

Captain Knight, CO

“40% is high enough for a spark to burst into a conflagration. We might have to take more precautions that that.”

Yuri nodded at the Captain. Finally something to do than playing with his thumbs. As he tapped his commbadge and called the sickbay, Yuri got his chest outward and with his typical german accent started the communication =/\=Bridge to Doctor Knight. You may prepare hyposprays for rich O2 environments or anything else you suggest. I’ll be checking the content in 5 minutes. =/\= as he terminated, he looked back to Dante and whispering said “I wonder how’s a rich O2 environment… never been in one.” He winked.

Lieutenant Cdr. Yuri Scholz - Executive Officer

After having his knee replaced and being on light duty, Colter was anxious to get back to work. He was thankful to have had Hannah helping to occupy his time, but he was beginning to go a bit stir crazy from lack of action. He stepped out the turbolift and moved to the captain’s side.

“Something new, skipper,” he asked?

Colter (CIO)

“We have a Distress Call, Da’Vinci,” Dante filled the CIO in, “being transmitted from a buoy, looks like a recording. Medical facility on the planet Drixov, Drix system, they are under attack and need assistance. Hows that knee?”

Captain Knight, CO

Marsh

The distress signal continued to transmit the message, but the buoy appeared to be moving. Based on the trajectory of its flight path it was headed away from the coordinates matching the planet Drixov.

-GM SEMAJ

“The probe seems to be moving away from Drixov… perhaps it was launched from there to request aid.”

Graham

“Is there any indication of how long ago that might have been? How long would it have taken to get here at its current speed?” Dante asked the CSO, then addressed the Helm. “Change course to intercept the probe, let’s take a quick look at it to see if we can get any more information before flying blind into whatever the situation is on Drixov.”

Making the adjustments, the Helm changed course from Drixov to intercept the probe.

Captain Knight, CO

Sinclair looked at the Captain and said “Sir, we could send a shuttle to intercept the probe while the ship continued on to the planet. Two birds approach and such. If someone there does need help, won’t be doing them any favors to delay.”

Sinclair, CoS

“Doing the math.”

Graham

According to the calculations, the probe had been traveling for about 3 days at its current speed.

“About three days at current speed,” Graham reported. “Its a negligible distance.” For the Saracen.

=^=LT Cmdr Scholz this is sickbay. We will have those hypos ready for you. I would also suggest rebreathers to regulate the O2 intake incase something in the environment reacts badly with the hypos. I also suggest fire suppression suits since O2 rich atmospheres are very volatile. Sickbay out.=^=
Lt. jg Asimina

“Wonderful, this keeps getting better,” Dante muttered, a raised eyebrow to Scholz. “We’ll continue to the probe first, then the planet.” Dante said, turning to Sinclair. “I’d prefer not to put the Saracen into a situation we could go in better prepared for against people we know nothing about. We just need to get close enough for a decent scan of the probe, then adjust course back to the planet.”

Captain Knight

As the ship traveled to the probe’s location, sensors detected another vessel on an intercept course for the probe as well. It was a much smaller ship, maybe a fighter of some sort, and it appeared they would reach the probe first. Initial long range scans did not match the ships energy signature to anything in the database.

-GM SEMAJ

Sinclair scowled and relayed the information to the Center chair. “Unknown vessel inbound to the probe, Captain. Looks like they’ll beat us there. Want me to ready a tractor beam?”

Sinclair, CoS

Vadoma kept her eye on the ship and the probe in case anything came up she needed to get engineering involved in quickly. Maneuvering may be the helm’s job, but making sure things happened on his command, well that was engineering’s job.

Engineer

Sathut slipped onto the bridge. The diminutive Counselor didn’t say anything as he got to his seat and sat in it.

Sathut, CNS

“Welcome to the Bridge Counselor,” Dante acknowledged Sathut, then shook his head at Sinclair slightly. “No Tractor Beam, as far as we know this Drixov is not Federation aligned and if this ship has malicious intentions towards the probe, that’s none of our business. Scan both if we are within range, get whatever information we can, and Hail that ship. Lets see if they can tell us anything more.
