OOC: Cross posting from the bridge
IC:
Yuri nodded at the Captain. Finally something to do than playing with his thumbs. As he tapped his commbadge and called the sickbay, Yuri got his chest outward and with his typical German accent started the communication =/\=Bridge to Doctor Knight. You may prepare hyposprays for rich O2 environments or anything else you suggest. I’ll be checking the content in 5 minutes. =/\= as he terminated, he looked back to Dante and whispering said “I wonder how’s a rich O2 environment… never been in one.” He winked.
Lieutenant Cdr. Yuri Scholz - Executive Officer

=^=LT Cmdr Scholz this is sickbay. We will have those hypos ready for you. I would also suggest rebreathers to regulate the O2 intake incase something in the environment reacts badly with the hypos. I also suggest fire suppression suits since O2 rich atmospheres are very volatile. Sickbay out.=^=
Lt. jg Asimina

Hannah looked at Claire and motioned her over. “Let’s go ahead and get some rebreathers ready and set them to filter for high oxygen content.” Hannah then moved over to the replicator system. She scanned through what was already on file and made a few tweaks to some of the uniform options. Fire and heat protective uniforms. High oxygen content was very volitile and would explode at the smallest provocation. An EVA suit would be better, it would protect the away team better, but if that wasn’t an option, fire and heat resistant uniforms would have to do. She set the specifications for a full uniform, including socks, boots, gloves, hats, and face coverings. Not the best option, but at least it was better than a standard uniform.

When she was finished she moved over to Claire to double check the hypos she was preparing. Then she checked with NE Longvaty who was working on setting up the rebreathers for high oxygen content.
Lt. jg Asimina, Doctor

It didn’t take long for Hannah and the other medical staff to complete the modifications to rebreathers. Once they were done they set everything up on a table for the CMO to check over for approval.
Lt jg Asimina, Doctor

As they were working some of the display consoles started to flicker. It wasn’t a minor power fluctuation but definitely noticeable.

-GM SEMAJ

Hannah looked at the screens curiously. =^=Sickbay to main engineering. We are experiencing some power fluctuations. Would it be possible for someone to come check out systems?=^= It could be minor, but medical usually had back ups for those systems to protect patients. Of course Hannah wasn’t familiar with the Saracen’s design specifications yet.
=^=Computer, identify source of power fluctuations in main Sickbay.=^=
Lt jg Asimina, Doctor

=/\= Fluctuations in the main power grid and secondary systems =/\= Came the reply from the computer.

-GM SEMAJ

Well that sounded ominous. =^=Computer can you identify what is causing the fluctuations? Nevermind cancel inquiry=^= Engineering was not her area. She knew just enough to make small adjustments to her implants. She didn’t know more than that. She hadn’t heard from engineering either. =^=Sickbay to Bridge. We’re experiencing power fluctuations down here in both the main and secondary systems. I’ve tried contacting engineering, but got no response. Anything going on that I should switch us to emergency power until it’s fixed?=^= The ship wasn’t at alert, or if it was the klaxon’s weren’t going off in sickbay. And Hannah was of the mind not to turn on emergency power unless it was necessary. And at the moment they had no patients, so she wasn’t worried, yet.
OOC: I know our engineers are busy RL so just adding to the story. LOL
Lt jg Asimina, Doctor

Natasha came over to Asinima and handed her a PaDD. “I’m more worried about how rich the oxygen is. People always worry about CO2 but oxygen toxicity is a tricky thing.” Natasha was saying this more to steady the growing nag in her belly that something was really wrong. Asimina knew all of this but it didn’t hurt to update the corpsman and nurses on the effects of too much oxygen. “Oxidative damage to cell membranes, collapse of the alveoli in the lungs, retinal detachment, seizures,” her voice trailed off. “We need to make sure that the rebreathers are calculated to give more or less oxygen when needed. Are the consoles fixed,” she set the box of rebreathers down.

Lt. Natasha Knight CMO
OOC: Sorry I can’t help myself....
IC:
Hannah nodded taking the PaDD with the information on it. With a few deft taps the information about CO2 and oxygen toxicity showed on the screens around sickbay where the other medical crew was working so they could review it. Hannah brought over the crate of rebreathers. “We’ve been working on calibrating these, Dr Knight. These are all ready for your approval.” She set them down on the table for Knight to check. “We are also preparing hypos to counter act the effects of oxidative damage and then I’ll be preparing the surgical equipment incase we need them.”

“Good. We can also use the holodeck as a hyperbaric chamber if needed to treat a group, which leads us back to we really need the systems up on the Saracen,” Natasha replied.

Hannah nodded. Sickbay had it’s own back up systems, but if they needed to use the holodeck, which Hannah had to admit she never would have considered. (and had to admit that Knight had impressed her, but then the woman’s whole career impressed her). And if the systems were down or malfunctioning there was no reason to go to the holodeck and set it up now.

Then she looked around sickbay. “They seem to be working right now, but the computer says there is a fluctuations in the main power grid and secondary systems. I tried calling engineering but they aren’t responding. I called the bridge as well and no one has answered.” Briefly Hannah wondered if she just called Daniel if she’d actually get an answer, but on the other hand Dr Knight would probably get a faster response from her husband. She was supremely irritated that no one actually bothered to answer her. I mean they could at least let her know they GOT the message. “Computer are ship’s communications working?”
Lt jg Asimina, Doctor

“Then someone should be answering if we call correct,” Nat’s hand reached towards her comm badge.

Hannah sometimes spoke before she should. Her agitation showing as she started signing in a forceful manor when she muttered to herself, “You would think so, but apparently I didn’t phrase my request correctly. Unless comms are down too.”

=/\=Sickbay to bridge status report,=/\= she activated the comm.

Suddenly, the air next to Asimina shimmered before it coalesced into the form of a person. Electric blue eyed and raven haired, she looked around curiously. “Looks like we have a problem down here. Can I help?” Cori said as she assessed the systems issues in the blin of an eye. Quite literally.

~Corinne Dalton/SARAH

Hannah’s implants suddenly went crazy, the buzzing catching her off guard, so she missed the sudden shimmer and appearance of Cori. Her hands signed, finally not in a rude way but with relief. She had been starting to think that something was wrong on the ship when no one from engineering or the bridge responded to her comms. “We had a power fluctuation. The computer said there is a fluctuations in the main power grid and secondary systems. I was going to ask for an analysis, but I probably wouldn’t understand it so I reported it to you all in engineering. I reported it to the bridge too because I hadn’t heard back and I was worried something was wrong.” Hannah’s voice is very different, almost like she has cotton or marbles in her mouth that she’s trying to speak around making her pronunciation slightly off as well, but she speaks as clearly as her ‘accent’ will allow.
Lt jg Asimina, Doctor

Cori would detect that several power converters and relays were still damaged from their previous mission. Communications were functioning normally. Cori would also be able to detect a hint of something in the main computer. Something that was not supposed to be there. For all intents and purposes, it appeared to be some kind of virus.

-GM SEMAJ

The ships comm’s opened, and Tellers voice came through just then, followed by the Captains adding more information.

=/\= A probe was destroyed by what appears to be a fighter or corvette class ship, we are scanning for further information. =/\= Came from the CSO

=/\=Doctor, a team is heading to Engineering to check on the power fluctuations you are experiencing, we may also be having some communications issues as it seems you haven’t been able to get through to them. We will keep you informed of what’s going on. In the meantime, how are the preparations for t a high oxygen environment coming along and how badly are these fluctuations effecting you, Doctor Knight?=/\=
