“So Captain,” Interrupted Yuri “I guess that with proper radiation medication we will be able to get down and get a look. Shall I ready the medbay and advise Miss Knight?” He raised an eyebrow as he looked over the devastated planet “Poor lady.” he sought words to say to the planet itself, but none could be found.

Lieutenant Cdr. Yuri Scholz - Executive Officer

“Shuttles are, and always can be made more secure against radiation. Transporters....” Graham shrugged. “That is far more delicate stuff.”

Graham

Vadoma frowned. “I wouldn’t recommend the transporters, Sir. It’s risky, at best. And I can’t guarantee we’d maintain stable locks at this altitude with the wavering interference.” She knew it was ultimately the Captain’s choice. But she wouldn’t feel right if she didn’t put her two cents worth in with the Chief not up there.

Colter sat quietly at his console, scanning the debris field in an attempt to identify the combatants and weapons used to destroy the ships. The going was slow, like putting the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle together. He may not get specifics, but should be able to determine whose ship they were when compared to the Saracen’s database.

Colter (CIO)

The debris was comprised of bits and pieces from two very distinct types of ships. The alloys used in the construction for the ships were clearly different but didn’t register as anything the Federation had in the database. Extrapolations based on the weapons fire residuals and debris patters showed the remains of two ships of one side and six from the other side.

“There was a fair sized battle here, at least eight ships. Two destroyed of one group and six of another. I’ll do further scans to determine power levels of the weapons’ analyzing the degree of scorching on the hull verse the density of the material. I’ll also put the ship design together, so we can tell who is who.”

“Several of these materials are unknown to us, so that might be interesting.”

Vadoma wondered if the unevenness of the kills were any indication of the strength measured out below. She was almost dancing in her seat with anticipation of going below. Whatever was happening, it wasn’t happening up here. They needed to find answers, and fast.

“I can verify Graham’s report, skipper,” DaVinci added.

Colter (CIO)

“Mr Sinclair, open a hailing frequency, open on all channels,” Dante ordered. “Visual communication if possible with anyone who answers. Lets see if we can find out who is who and who sent for help. No point in flying down there blind with the risk the radiation poses. Lets hold off on the transporters unless we absolutely need to use them.”

Captain Knight, CO

Graham continued to scan. There wasn’t going to be any surprises if he could help it.

After a few minutes, they would receive a reply on an audio channel. There was considerable interference, despite any efforts to clear it up.

“ … medical… assist… doctor… repairs…”

These were the only words that came through clearly, spoken in a female voice.

-GM SEMAJ

Sha’s voice came over the comm just then as well. =^=Security to Bridge… comms check out fine in Engineering and Medical. Returning to bridge.=^=

Vadoma growled at the broken message. “Trying to clean it up, Sir…” She wasn’t even aware of her fingers working furiously over the console to try and clear up the message with buffers and enhancers. Obviously, something was wrong. And she wanted to be sure she was doing everything on her end to try and make it audible and completely aware.
