Cori laughed openly. “Royal, I am the Universal Translator. Brogue it up all you want, it’ll be all good with m,” she said with a cheeky grin as she got to her feet.

Pulling a crate over in front of the sofa, she then resettled, kicking her feet up on the crate and crossing them at the ankles. “Tell me something no one knows about you.”

He paused with a bite halfway to his mouth and cast a side-eye glance at her. “Ohhh… ye crossin’ inta dangerous territory, lass.” and he smiled and took the bite and then pondered the question seriously. Slowly chewing, he thought back and then an answer flashed into the forefront of his mind. Slowly finishing the bite and swallowing, he nodded to himself and said “Okay… okay…” and then turned to face her. “Somethin’ not a single living soul knows… I didn’t even know until I had to that damn DNA sequencing section in the Organic Chem lab of year two at the Academy.” and he took a breath and visibly steeled himself.

“Oh yeah?” she asked curiously, her attention firmly fixed on him.

Looking at Cori, his face grew serious and he said “So… my DNA… when I ran it… it showed that I am… well… not entirely human.” and he looked at her to see her reaction.

Royal

Dalton blinked. Then her feet dropped back to the floor and she turned himself to face him, tucking one foot on the sofa under her other thigh. “Uhhh, okay? So… why do I get the feeling we’re not just talking about some long-forgotten ancestor? Or are we?”

Royal took a deep breath and said “It said I am actually part Andorian. It was a trace amount, but it was there.” and he looked at her with all the seriousness he could convey. “And to further complicate matters, it turned out I was related to a classmate. One of the scions of the governing Houses.” and his head cocked to the side.

Her brows rose. “Okay then…”

“‘Course after I cleaned the slide and reran it, it came back as human only. But man, for a wee sec there… I thought my family had some serious explanations due me, I tell ya.”

Royal, Not Scion Of Andor

She threw her head back and laughed hard. “Oh… to have been a fly on the wall for that! Were you disappointed when you found out you weren’t?” Cori stayed in her relaxed position and raced her arm on the back of the sofa.

Royal chuckled and said “Naw… more disappointed in the ‘D’ I got in genetic sequencing because of it.” and then he laughed heartily before calming down and taking the last bite of his lunch. Around the bite, he said “Ok.. hit me again. Make it a good one.”
