Sinclair’s words seemed to reassure Hannah. She of course knew what should be on the craft, but whether or not it was there was another question, well it always had been on the Fearless anyway. Her hands started moving while she waited for the scans. Anyone who knew sign would recognize that Hannah was calling someone, a lt if they got the sign right, an idiot among other things in a very creative and descriptive way. “That’s a relief, Cmdr. The CoS on my list assignment kept the equipment under lock and key in his office.”

Sinclair simply looked out the front of the shuttle and said softly “Then he did all of you a great disservice.”

“You know I can, Hannah, but I’d much prefer an easier route,” DaVinci stated from the pilot’s seat. During their descent, he had been scanning the area’s geography and land forms, hoping he’d find a tunnel large enough to fly the shuttle below the surface if not all the way, at least part-way down. If that wasn’t a possibilty, he was hoping the interference of the atmosphere would allow the team to beam down from the surface. . . .

Colter (CIO)

“I’d prefer an easier route, too, but I’d also rather be prepared. We might want to run a geographic stability scan. Make sure we aren’t walking into anything unstable and get caught in a cave-in.” She turned back to the console again to try and get a reading on the air quality below the surface. The air might be okay outside but it could be toxic below ground and then they really would need the rebreathers.

As they neared the surface, the sensors detected an area that would be bet described as a landing area, big enough to hold several large shuttles and smaller transport ships. There was a large building constructed at the far end of the flat landing pad area, power readings from that building indicted some technology operating. They would also detect two humanoid life signs. As they neared visual range, small ground lights around the perimeter of the landing pad began flashing from green to white on a regular interval.

“Lieutenant, prep for landing.” Sinclair said to Triton, and he stood up (as much as he could) and went to the security weapons locker. Entering his code, it slid open and he pulled a phaser rifle from the rack and held it backwards towards Sha.

Taking another, he checked the power cell for charge and slung it over his shoulder. He checked his sidearm in the same fashion and then turned and picked up the black bag off the floor. Swapping the rifle for the bag, he adjusted the straps to center the bag on his back, and then took up a position on the right side of the hatch.

Hannah was waiting on the environmental readings to see if they would still need the rebreathers. (OOC: GM is the outside and underground air safe or do we still need the rebreathers?) She popped open a panel, grabbing a S&R pack she’d rather take it and not need it. The medkit was a bit clunky but she was used to caring both. She slipped the strap over her head and secured the pack over both shoulders.

She glanced over at Sinclair, “May I cmdr?” She nodded towards the weapons locker. If he was passing out phaser rifles, she deduced that the situation had the potential for violence. Many doctors hated phaser, Hannah was a little more practical. She didn’t enjoy the idea of shooting to kill, but other than the kill setting she could fix any injuries she inflicted.

Sinclair nodded once and said “Better to have and not need; than need and not have, Doctor.” and he pulled a Type 1F personal phaser and handed it to her. “Better suited for those who don’t carry one regularly. You are qualified with it, yes?” he asked before he released the device.

Sinclair, CoS

Hannah nodded taking the Type 1 and slipped it into a holster on her belt. She preferred the smaller size of the Type 1. The handle didn’t get in the way of ropes or other equipment. “Type 1F and 2. I’m no sharp shooter, but I got top level marks when I did my search and rescue team lead certification. Much to Lt Mazor’s disappointment my scores neither improved nor decreased when he attempted to make me mad.”

Once the shuttle set down, DaVinci opened a comm channel. =^=This is Cmdr. Colter, of the USS Saracen. We have arrived on your landing pad on the surface in response to your distress call. How can we be of service?=^=

Colter (CIO)

According to the scans, the atmosphere outside the shuttle would be perfectly breathable. There was a definite change in the readings they had received from the ships sensors before coming down.

=/\= Commander thank you for coming to our aid.=/\= A male voice responded. =/\= I am Ryn, the head of security here on the station. We have been under attack off and on for the past twenty days or so. We have damaged equipment and limited resources. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. We can escort you to our facility when you are ready. =/\=

-GM SEMAJ

Sinclair looked at Sha and said “Attacks off and on for twenty days? Ok, then. Break out the rest.” and he started pulling rifles and sidearms and handing them the team.

Sinclair, CoS

Hannah checked the readings one more time. “Looks like we won’t need the rebreathers, but I would prefer you tuck the in a pocket just in case whatever caused the previous readings starts messing with the air again. They also might come in handy if someone starts attacking again.” She glanced at Sinclair, “Better to have it and not need it.”

Attacks for 20 days? Hannah grabbed several more of the S&R packs and began to pull medical and first aid supplies out and add it to her own pack. It was a medical research facility, supposedly, and though they should have supplies, 20 days of attacks…that meant injuries constantly, and possibly no resupply. There was also no telling if there were injured that were unable to make it to the medical facility.
