He pulled her to her feet and she let her arms drape gently across his shoulders and her hands rest gentle behind his neck. The closeness and intimacy of dancing created that nervous, weightless feeling in her stomach that was only settled by the warmth of his arms around her. She watched his face as she listened to the music that he played for her. His only one.

He knew he didn’t have the voice for singing, but couldn’t help but whisper the words to her. She would be able to read his lips and at the same time feel the emotion behind the words as if he had written them himself.
Hannah loved the sound of his voice. He might not have a voice for singing but she loved it anyway. She’d missed it, having only the memory of it. Of all the sounds her implants let her hear, it was his voice she would miss if they ever stopped working. His whispered words moved through her, giving her a sense happiness, peace, and contentment.
The song ended and he continued to hold her tightly, dancing in silence. “You ARE my only one, Hannah. I don’t want to go another day without you by my side.”
Hannah leaned away from him slightly, enough to put some space between them, but not so far that she wasn’t still in his arms. She removed one hand from around him and signed, I’ve always been with you, even if I wasn’t physically there.
He stopped and looked deeply into her eyes. “I want your face to be the last thing I see before I close my eyes every night, and the first thing I see when I open them in the morning. Move in with me. I’m sure we can work something out. My quarters are big enough, but maybe we could even work something bigger out. Please say yes.”
Hannah took in his face, his presence, his words. Move in with him? What had taken him so long to ask? “Yes.” She kissed his cheek, “Yes, I’ll move in with you.” She kissed his other cheek. “You are my one and only, Daniel, you always have been.” She smiled signing to him, How could you think there was any other answer? She wrapped her arms back around him holding him tightly and kissing him.

His smile relayed everything he was feeling. The emotion. . .the passion. . . the love he sensed from her letters, DaVinci knew he had made the right choice with Hannah. Fate had torn them apart and another strange twist of fate had brought them together again, never again to be apart.
He held her tight and eagerly returned the kiss. When they finally split apart, the smile was still on his face. “It’s going to be nice seeing you every morning, and not just your toothbrush hanging in my bathroom. But, right now, you need to start packing while I go find Capt. Knight and get the okay. I’m sure everything will be just fine. It’s more or less just a formality we should go through.”
“When you get finished, I’ll have someone from the quartermaster’s office stop by and start moving you in. . . .then it’s falling asleep together every night!!”
Hannah smiled up at him, “Every morning,” the idea was a little bigger than life, to her. Probably to Daniel too. “I like the sound of that.” She wasn’t sure a captain had the time to worry about the love lives of his crew, but if Daniel thought it was necessary she would follow his lead. He knew the captain, she didn’t. Though she liked Dr Knight and that said something. These were fleeting thoughts and not something Hannah really worried about. They weren’t in the same department so it should be fine.
“Now? Right now?” That’s what he said, but she was extremely excited about it. She kissed him on the cheek and then, stepping out of his arms she pushed him to the door, “Then get going.” She paused, “You’ll come back after you’re done?” She couldn’t exactly get into his quarters. He might have his crafty ways of opening any door he came across but she didn’t.
Once Daniel had left Hannah walked into the bedroom, pulling out a crate that was still half full and an empty one. Into the empty one went her clothes first, then her special alarm clock and the box for her implants. The other half full create held her foot ball stuff, she added her climbing gear and some various PaDDs pictures and personal items. It didn’t take long, Hannah had not collected much over the years. Except for what was in the two crates, everything else could be recycled and replicated again later.
