The situation thus far:

The Saracen received a distress call from a Federation freighter saying it was being attacked, then comms were cut off. Under orders from the CO, the Saracen moved to intercept, but discovered the ship was on the other side of the Romulan-Federation border. The ship, a freighter missing for eleven years according to Star Fleet records, was being attacked by multiple smaller vessels and the Saracen arrived at the same time as a Romulan War Bird, who began attacking the small vessels attacking the freighter. The War Bird Sub Commander warned the Saracen away saying they were trespassing in Romulan space and the freighter was crewed by escaped prisoners. Two new ships have been detected at long range, so far unknown as to type… or who they are.

GM

Sinclair kept a wary eye on the incoming ships, but also began plotting attack variables and scanning for potential weak points in the remaining ships… including the War Bird. Thats when the scans came back with something that made his eyes widen in surprise.

“Captain. You need to see this… now.” and he motioned Dante to his station.

Sinclair, CTO

She frowned at the edge in Sinclair’s voice. She knew the tone well and it didn’t bode well. Keeping an eye on her own console, she kept scanning to see if there was something they could use as leverage, or something else, to get the Federation ship back into Federation hands. “Have we gotten any official call of help from the ship?” She couldn’t remember if their had been a hail or not. Having come on the bridge after things had begun, she wracked her brain to see if she could remember anyone mentioning it. If there had been a distress call, perhaps hailing them to ask what was going on might be an option.

Sinclair nodded. “Distress call. They identified themselves as Federation-flagged. Then the comms went dark.” he said while glaring at the display.

Sinclair, CTO

OOC: Just waiting for the CO to reply, everyone. No rush.

GM

“Whatever the situation my be, we can’t just hand them over to the Romulans or anybody else,” DaVinci added. “That is still a Federation registered ship, and if there are humans, Vulcans, and Bajorans there, they are most likely Federation citizens and we owe it to them to check into this mess even if they are prisoners.”

He began to search the database for humans, Vulcan, and Bajorams that were known to be held prisoners of the Romulans as well as the ships crew manifest. . .

Colter (XO/CIO)

“Not that I’m agreeing with handing them over, but I think the law is pretty clear. We can’t cross the boarder to enforce our beliefs or laws. We probably could argue if they had brought the Freighter over the boarder themselves as a means to evade our authority.” Not that they had to prove anything in the short run. They could do whatever they wanted and explain it away or not at a later time.

Graham

“Comms, get the Romulans back on line. We need to discuss this. We’re answering a distress call from a Federation ship. It’s our duty to check into that. If they’re all guilty of crimes against the Empire, that’s one thing, but it’s still our duty to investigate and get a clearer picture of the situation, especially if that ship has been MIA for 11 years. . . . “

He continued to search for the prisoners identities. . . . .

Colter (XO/CIO)

A message appeared from the Tactical station. Two signatures inbound. Unknown origin, fluctuations in signal strength. Possible cloaked vessel or vessels.

The identity of the prisoners themselves was not forthcoming, but a cross-reference of the last known crew of the freighter showed a crew of four: three humans and a Tellarite.

The Comms officer nodded and soon the face of the Subcommander reappeared. =/\= What is it now, Saracen? Or were my instructions not clear enough? =/\=

GM

Sinclair, CTO

“Two contacts entering the sector… no ids, I’d put money on the fact they are cloaked ships.” Graham looked over. “The odds are tilting.”

Graham

Sha took the roster information and sent it to the CO’s, XO’s and CTO’s screens.

Roster from ship shows three humans and a Tellerite. Not sure if same persons are still on the ship.

She then glanced up at the obviously irritated face of the Romulan on the viewscreen.
