Discreet inquires had been made, contact with her director kept quiet, clues were sniffed out, and false trails laid. Now they were waiting to see if any fish took the bait. Official orders came down and Brenna was leaving. She entered the shuttle bay and made her way over to the Garmr. Siarram had fixed her, and Brenna had to hope her own skills would be enough. She placed her hand to the biometric reader and the hatch hissed and then lowered. She looked at the three huskies that dutifully followed her in her wake, “Alright boys, settle in.” The dogs bounded inside, taking up their favorite spots. Brenna hoisted the small crate and stepped inside.Atoded, CoS
“Brenna!” Siarram’s voice rang into the shuttle bay. Rushing up to the side of the space craft, he stopped at the door. “Were you going to leave without saying goodbye? In this hunk of junk?” He leaned against the side and grinned at her. “You sure she’ll hold together for you?”

Brenna set the crate down and turned. The one person she wanted to see but dreaded. She walked over and matched his posture, leaning against the wall. She was almost tall enough to look him in the eye as she was on the higher deck plating. “I think she will. I had a really excellent engineer give her a good once over.” She couldn’t help but grin back at him.
She stared at him a long moment. The dogs whined and padded over. They could smell Brenna’s sadness. They liked Siarram and nudged his hands for attention. There was sadness on her face and disappointment in her voice. “I hate good-byes. I’ve had too many of them.”
