Cmdr. DaVinci Colter (Chief Intelligence Officer) in Conference Room, Senior Staff Briefing - Facing Alternate Realities, Side Sim : : Posted by Captain Dante Knight (CO) in Conference Room, Senior Staff Briefing - Facing Alternate Realities, Side Sim : : Dante waited in the ships Conference Room for his Senior Staff to arrive, after his discussion with Graham and Boja about her origins and the danger she believed she and the ship was in Dante had been given word from his Chief Medical Officer that she and Teller had developed some kind of ‘weapon’ that could be used if things came to a head. Plus it never hurt to get opinions from those in the specialist positions. : :  : : His own decision to support Boja and directly search for what she believed to be a threat to the ship meant that it was time to inform his senior staff of the events and possible danger that awaited them, and get their input into how to proceed along this unusual course that he had set the Saracen on with little to no ‘proof’ as he would call it, that a threat even existed. But, Boja had seemed to believe completely what she told him, and he wouldn’t ignore the support she had from the Chief Science Officer even if his decisions might be a little compromised by their apparent relationship. Pushing that aside, Dante always believed in trusting his Senior Staff and the old adage that there were no bad crew, just bad Captains. If he couldn’t trust his crew, how could they trust him? : :  : : Adjusting a PaDD on the table and sipping from a mug of coffee, Dante waited for his Senior Staff to join them, looking at a nearby time piece as the hands approached the hour the briefing would start. : :  : : Captain Knight : :  : : OOC: This is a thread to inform the crew of our upcoming Side Sim Linds has been planning and running for some time, All Senior Staff are welcome to join and everyone aboard can play a part, this will give everyone the same base knowledge for the side sim. :  : Davinci stepped into the briefing room, looked around, and took a seat near Dante. He normally said anything but a hello to the Captain, but seeing as there was no one else in the room, he began. “I’m guessing this briefing has something to do with what Dr. Boja and Lt. Graham have been working on in secret?” :  :  : With a corner of his mouth tugged up into a half-grin, he said, “It’s my job to know things, sir.” :  : Colter (CIO) : Dante grinned, slightly. “It does” he confirmed, “and I’ll admit to being about as much in the dark as to their progress as most others on the crew however” he took a moment to adjust the cuffs on his tunic sleeve, “I am concerned about a potential contact with an unknown alien culture. Possibly very alien. I think it would be good to have your input and resources on hand for this, as I am proposing something a little unconventional, and hopefully what Boja and Graham have been working on will give us a little advantage should things go south. I’ll let Lieutenant Boja explain that in her briefing however, I will be letting her lead on most of this one.” : Captain Knight CO
“I’ll admit, Lt. Boja is somewhat of an enigma, sir. I’m usually pretty good a reading people, but with her. . . .the unknown parentage and telekinetic abilities. . . I’m content with letting her take the lead.”
Colter (CIO)

A few moments later, Satreya slipped in with Teller with her. She was rather preoccupied, but was aware enough to look at both Colter and the Captain and give them a nod of acknowledgement before she slipped into her seat. The doctor was normally either cheery or serene, but today she was definitely more somber. resting her hands on the table, they were enclosed around a hypospray.

Lt. Boja, CMO

Teller for his part sat next to Boja, but he gave the Captain a knowing nod. He completed the ‘bio’ weapon/shield. He looked about the room, a few people were giving them ‘odd’ looks… perhaps they already knew, or thought they knew.

Sha had been so busy with security and the fiascos surrounding it, she was probably one of the only ones to walk into the room more in the dark than most. She nodded to the others in turn and took one of the empty seats. “Captain,” was her only voiced comment at she nodded that direction before sitting down. Her PADD was full of things needing attention. From duty rosters to repairs that needed security while they were in works, she had her hands full already. But she also knew that a senior staff meeting was just that. And she knew a request for her attendance wasn’t just a ‘nicety’.

The half Klingon sat down and, despite looked preoccupied with her PADD, was severely aware of everyone’s tensions and the darting glances around at the others present.

Teller pursed his lips as he waited for direction. It wasn’t a good feeling that so much was going to depend on how they viewed the visitors form the other universe. It would burden Satreya even more because it spoke in some small measure about her.

Sensing the tension and the hesitancy in the room, DaVinci spoke up. “I’ve often found it best to spill everything you can. Get it all out there. When and where I come from, half the crew of this ship were nothing than figments of our imaginations. There’s not a whole lot that surprises me anymore.”

Colter (CIO)

Boja’s dark eyes settled on Colter and she seemed rather unimpressed. “This isn’t about trying to surprise anyone, trust me. Whether you are or aren’t will make no difference to how we proceed.” It was more curt than she ever was usually, but at the moment she didn’t care. She knew few of the senior staff very well anymore, besides Teller and Jarred, so she had no real rapport with any of them except for, perhaps, Gavain.

She turned her attention to the Captain. “Shall I just start and let the others catch up as they get here?”

Lt. Boja, CMO

Just as she said that, Seamus entered the room, very aware he was late. He silently took a seat, making eye contact with no one.
