Time blurred between them until it finally snapped back into focus. Flopping back into a pillow she tired her head to look at him. Letting out a laugh she ran her fingers through the mop of her.hair. Rolling over into his body she rested her chin on his chest as she looked up at him. “You know how crazy this is right? There is no reason I should feel this close to you after such a short period of time but it just feels right.”
DaVinci let one of his hands brush back any stray loose strands of hair from her face. His other hand gently caressed her shoulder and back.
Gazing deeply into Kavia’s eyes, he said with straightforward seriousness, “If this IS crazy, I don’t want to be sane. I’ve always been focused on the job and getting the job done successfully, no matter what it took. Any intimate relations . . . they were strictly to get the job done. But you, with you, it’s not a job. It feels. . . real. And I haven’t felt like this in a long time. I feel like a teenage boy again, and I just convinced the hottest girl in school to go out with me. . . . and that date turned into something more than I could ever have imagined.”
He let his fingertips gently play over her face, eyes, cheeks, lips. . . .”I feel like I should give you my class ring and ask you go steady with me. . . .”
Kavia sat up quickly as if the ship had went to red alert. “As long as that means we don’t have to stop this,” she sat up looking at him. She had heard many men complain that once they became a couple the intimacy dropped off to a sharp incline. If that is what being a couple was in this world she wanted no part of it. She would happily spend out her days under any name that allowed her to continue with their current activities and the pace at which they participated in them.
“Oh and that means we can take a vacation right,” Kavia said getting a huge smile on her face. Rolling over she straddled him as if attempting to keep him in one place as she reached for a PaDD beside the bed. Tapping the console her smile grew wider as she found what she had been looking for. Holding the device to her chest baring him from the view he probably was enjoying Kavia could barely hold back her excitement. “I want to go here,” she pointed to the desert world of Marrakech III, “the underwater utopia of Atlantea V or the ice plains of Norwavia X,” Kavia waggled the PaDD back in forth in her hands like a small child.
“Lt Knight and Kane told me that when you are a couple you go on things called weekenders. I thought it was going to be weeks before we could do this but now that I am wearing your ring we can go right?” Her eyes held an excitement that could not be contained. “If you really hate these choices there is a place called Farius Prime. I think it is a gambling type world but every time I tried to find flights there it said it was barred to Federation citizens unless given permission to land there. Since I am a cultural attache I am sure I could get us tickets. I could not find out why you are banned being in Starfleet but,” she shrugged as if it didn’t matter, “we can always go there later.”
