Navigating through the medbay the nurse took Yuri among the beds. For a while he took time to observe the everyday life of the bay with all those nurses and docs, until they came up to a desk and there was this person looking at the computer. He could not tell who was behind that screen but as the nurse interrupted the doctor, Yuri formerly stood at ease and introduced himself
“Good afternoon, I am Lieutenant Commander Yuri Scholz. Reporting for my boarding physical.”

Lieutenant Commander Yuri Scholz - Executive Officer

Natasha smiled at the man that was the new XO. “So you are Dante’s on duty better half,” she stuck out her hand. “I’m Dante’s off duty better half. I am so happy to meet you. You here for a check in,” she asked gesturing to a bed out of the way. His rank as executive officer did afford a bit more privacy yet it was the conversation Nat was preparing to have with the man that needed to be out of ear shot more. “So your name is Yuri? Are you lucky enough to be of Russian descent,” she laughed as she began her scan.

Lt. Commander Natasha Knight CMO

Following the gesture direction Yuri found the bed, a bit isolated from the rest, perfect for an inspection “Yes my name is Yuri. So for a German getting a Russian name is pretty… interesting but I mean it suits my character, being half-russian by heritage.” He cracked a smile back at the woman, taking a seat on the seemingly comfy bio-bed “So your name is Natasha, Commander?” He asked back in the same fashion. Having read her file a bit as for most of the crew, the only thing he could remember was her name… but perhaps he had forgotten she was the Captain’s Better Half off duty (quoting her phrasing) and that she was indeed more russian that himself.

Lieutenant Cdr. Yuri Scholz - Executive Officer

“Yeah you can call me Natasha or Nat but for the record if a Russian asks you that your response needs to be only my best half is Russian,” she let out a hearty laugh reading the tricorder. “My mother was full Russian and my father full English hence my maiden name Daye. My babushka however said that my father’s only flaw was that he was not a Russian. She said the same thing about Dante,” Nat gave her head a slight nod to the side as if thinking about a past memory. “In the end however my father Conner won her over after a few years. Dante however took one month’s leave. He had help with my Deda though in thawing old Mila’s heart. That and a lot of vodka,” she picked up a PaDD to take down some notes on Yuri’s medical file.

“That’s funny enough, my mother was also russian and my father german. They had a similar story but they could actually make it after just 6 months, being constantly together during the mess hall’s pause onboard whatever ship they worked on!” The Commander chuckled looking the CMO in face. She resembled for some traits her mother and it was something he appreciated “I see some of her in you. Like your nose.”

“You are part German,” she glanced back at Yuri. “Such a beautiful country. Dante and I snuck off to Berlin for a weekend at the academy once. Did you grow up there at all?”

Lt Commander Natasha Knight CMO

Getting a refresh through his memories, Yuri shook his head to disagree “No, Doc. Unfortunately I was not grown up there. I was born on Alpha Cent Colony, but I would say that I have been in my father’s country several times actually and to my mother’s too. I think their heritage have lot of story to tell, especially those between the 1600s and the 2000s. Conflicts and lot of conflicts… they ended up being friends ahah! Instead, how’s being half british? The russian side is renowned already.” He brightly smiled to the woman.

Lieutenant Cdr. Yuri Scholz - Executive Officer

“It balances out the blunt Russian side. All cultures and races had stereotypes. While some saw stereotypes as a negative thing, I have always saw them as a positive thing,” she said. “ Italians are known for being the group from Earth that wanted to feed you.” Never had Natasha been to Italy where she left any table empty bellied. Italians shared every ounce of food or drink they owned freely.

“Ahah I know I know. Been there twice maybe. Good food and stuff but I guess some of them weren’t that friendly in the north.. I don’t know some grumpy face among the populations” He laughed with a big smile as he crossed his arms “Yes. But they’re awesome.”

OOC: This is my personal life experience lol, northen italians are more grumpy thank southern.

“Russians are the guys that have your back. They are the guys that when you need somewhere in your corner Boris or Ivan suddenly appeared and often asked the question do you have a problem with my friend here comrade.”.

“I have found that Germans and Irish show thier love in a pub. Every pub trears those that walked in like you were old family. They shared life over drinks and laughter making everyone feel like you were a part of a huge extended family. Americans are those people that gave you the best stories one shared which bordered on the fantastical. They tend to be the rebels or daredevils of the group but accounted for most cultures saying “okay you are never going to believe this but my buddy and I”. Natasha continued with her biopic of Earth with a smile.

IC:
“What a nice perspective of us, Doc.” He winked at her, honestly it summed up a bit what was his experience of the german heritage and the russian one. His father usually brought some friends and what was the best way to socialize? Exactly, a large glass of beer. Some snacks and lots of laughs. Wasn’t really a pub as they passed most of their time abroad but it was almost the same “I should invite you and the Captain to take some beer with my family one day. What about that?”

“Now The British were known for being diplomatic and polite. That doesnt meant they are quiet however. They just tended to have more public manners often nodding or smiling even if they thought the person was crazy or off their rocker.”

“Between me and you I think we got the best parts of Earth in our heritage.” Turning on the scanner she began to do his scan.

Nat. CMO.

“From how you’re talking about it, seems we do! Still I haven’t found any brits yet. Do you?” He looked at the scanner a bit worried “You know, these things always scared me. Doctors know first what you have and I always wonder: do I have something bad? Why he or she is looking me that way. How do you do your job honestly? I appreciate your honest work and the work of the whole med dept.”

Lieutenant Cdr. Yuri Scholz - Executive Officer
