The Meridian Fleet Report - March 2023

USS Brian A. Olinski

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Luke Hung

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The main sim has the Olinski under fire by the alien ship with a torpedo running hot, straight, and true. The problem is who it is going to hit first. The fighter squadron is exactly between the torpedo’s trajectory and the Olinski. The CE is attempting to boost shields by 20%. The XO has ordered the fighter squadron to move out of the torpedo’s way. Only next month will we know if the shields held, the squadron moved, and the Olinski comes back swinging.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims?We have new crew. Check it out the bio and first post of Lt. Steve Johnson written by Travis Good.

Who is the shining star this month?

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: No idea why missing reports. No responses.

Ship doing ‘ok’. But needs some serious attention. Sydney said he’d be focusing on this asap. But I will keep in touch to see what is happening and see if we can get her up and running.

USS Chernov

Commanding Officer: Travis Good

How is your ship looking overall? We are doing great with who we have. A small team of very skilled writers and storytellers. We started our new SIM and are heading to a planet near the Klingon Empire. After this SIM the USS Chernov would be the catalyst for the Four Year War and then we will start that. We do need more players.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Everything! We have a great SIM going on and every person is doing character building and when not in the Main SIM, they have Side SIM’s. I could not be more pleased with the crew of the USS Chernov!

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month. We need more players. Please do not be shy and come and have fun in a group of likeminded people that will help your character and yourself grow.

Executive Officer: Trinity Fister

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our DHs eased into March with a few posts here and there, but really picked it up toward the middle of the month. I appreciate their charisma and flexibility, especially when RL throws a wrench in plans, and look forward to what the next SIM will bring. I expect they’ll be busy!

In other news, we welcomed Alexander Hampshire to the Chernov as our Chief Weapons Officer with his character Quentin “Q” Dawson.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our JOs – Kastarak (Ric) and Pawl (David) – are the backbone of our little ship. They never cease to ‘wow’ us with their storytelling and are the first to jump on new threads. I hope to find ways to get them more involved in the new SIM, especially with their characters’ unique positions. Keep up the great work!

Who is the shining star this month? Alexander Hampshire plays our Chief Weapons Officer, Quentin “Q” Dawson. In a few short weeks, Alexander has ingrained himself into the crew and our MainSIM. I appreciate his initiative and look forward to reading more about his character (who, apparently, has a wealth of knowledge on ancient combat? Cool!).

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Roster is thin and has been for quite some time. DHs only (and one JO engineer). If we can’t get more JOs to play, concerned about health of ship.
Posting is doing well, though. Those on board are doing great!

USS Saracen

Commanding Officer: No report submitted

Executive Officer: Shaun Tee

How are the DHs doing? Are they all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? The ship has been relatively active, though a little slow. The main Sim is running along and several side sims are also continuing course. I’ve been posting a little slowly (~3-5 days instead of 1-3) due to some work/health balance issues, but within the flow of the threads.

How are the JOs doing? Are the all active and participating, both in the main sim and in any side sims? Our JOs are doing great! We’re looking to see continuing growth as we progress with our sims and side sims.

Who is the shining star this month? I have to bid a fond farewell to Jen and River, who left the Saracen with an engaging blast of a post. We all wish them both well and look forward to seeing them in the fleet elsewhere.

Also shout out to mew member Ava with the Klingon Engineer, Charles-Louis, who is a pleasure to read.

Gamemaster: Sam Haynes

Summarize the sim plot so far as if you were providing it to a new member joining the ship: The Saracen is in the process of investigating the disappearance of at least three ships in the region, most recently the B’hari, a cargo hauler. It appears the ship was destroyed rather swiftly. It’s remains floated into an irradiated nebula inside the system, where the Saracen followed, and is now picking up the pieces and the remains of the crew. Something lurks in the murk of the nebula. It wouldn’t be out of place for the crew to feel as though they were being watched, stalked.

As the crew takes action, it seems they are close to some answers. Or perhaps the answers are coming for them now. Red Alert.

Who was the biggest contributor this month to driving the sim forward? Again, this crew is quite good, so it’s hard to point out anyone individual. Our dutiful bridge crew work are working diligently, and our medical and engineering team are starting what they can do that’s more hands-on. Ray Branch with his helmsman, and Mika Jackson with her engineer have done much to help move us along.

FComm’s Comments: Not sure reason for missing reports. No one emailed/texted.

Need to work with Command to get AWOL back on track. Ship moving, albeit slowly, but full compliment of DHs and we will work on filling JOs.

USS Sentinel

Commanding Officer: Jennifer Ward

How is your ship looking overall? Sentinel has really slowed down this past month, from main sim to side sims. She has a great dedicated crew but participation really slowed down this past month. We ate going to work on getting back to normal.

What was your favorite moment/post on the ship this month (include a link if possible!)? Abigail has started a side sim that promises to be intriguing and get us all into crazy antics.

Name one thing you want to improve on the ship for next month.I really want to focus on getting the crew engaged in their own stories and characterizations.

Executive Officer: No report submitted

Gamemaster: No report submitted

FComm’s Comments: Issues have plagued this ship for a while. Jennifer just took over as Co so is excused from report this month. (yet seems to be the only one who DID one…)
No idea why no other reports. No one informed me or emailed/texted.

Seriously concerned about health of ship. Need to get AWOL/LOA back in line, and there are no JOs, and slow going. Will work with Jennifer to see if we can bring her back to life.

The Fleet is in some serious trouble. With lack of full ship compliments, not full participatory Command crew and excessive LOA/AWOL, we have a lot of work to do this month. Hoping with new Cabinet, rules, regs and such will be more closely followed and we can get ‘true’ grasp of the root of problems.

Looking forward to this coming month being a much needed turn around for the Fleet.

Will continue to work with Meridian as long as I am able.
