It was about a week and a half since the Sentinel had returned from their last mission with the parasite controlled cows that had wiped out Deba III colony. The crew in that time had been given plenty of R&R at DS K-5 on and off the ship. But all good things had to come to an end with the easy life when at 0530 hours in the morning on a Monday morning the comm officer on the bridge chimed the CO’s quarters on the square boxed table console. Beep beep beep beep it went over and over until finally the CO would deem to answer it.

The Andorian groaned and sat up to rub his eyes, antennae curling in annoyance. Managing not to swear, he switched the comm unit near his bed on and answered the call. =/\=Zarath here./=/\=

On the screen the image of a young fresh from the academy NE on the ship’s bridge came up, =/\= Sorry to wake you up sir, but Station Commander Bobby is on the comm for you, shall I relay it to you now? =/\= He asked.

=/\=Yes, route it to my desk terminal, please. Zarath out./=/\= Then, Th’elin quickly pulled on a clean uniform tunic and ran a hand through his hair to tame it somewhat. Once he’d prepared quickly, he sat at his desk and took the call on his desk mounted terminal screen.

Once the CO ok’d things the screen dimmed then came alive again to the face of a human Commander ranked man in his late 40s. =/\= Ah greetings Captain Zarath!! Such a lovely morning is it not?=/\= He said in a manner probably WAY too cheery for a monday morning at 0530 at that.

=/\=Good morning to you, Commander. What can we do for you?/=/\= Antennae aside, Th’elin managed not to show any annoyance, though he did look tired.

After any replies or glares the Commander smiled and continued, =/\= I got new orders for you and your ship from Commodore Daniels from HQ. With your recent puzzling solving of Deba III’s mooooving issues =/\= The commander chuckled at his lame joke then continued. =/\= HQ has decided to send you to another colony on the border regions having some troubles. =/\= He said then a beep signaled an information packet had been transferred. =/\= The information is all in there in detail for your review and staff. But in short the colony of Sigma 9, a mining operation for precious ores and metals in the Sigma system has reported there has been a series of unexplained murders and vanishings in the past week. They’ve requested Starfleet assistance to get to the bottom of things as their local security chief seems unable or equipped with his small staff to solve the problems at hand. Any questions? =/\=

The Captain managed a slight smirk at the cow joke, but otherwise just nodded. =/\=I assume all the relevant information is in the file you sent? If that’s so, I think we can proceed for now. I’ll be in contact if I need anything further in the way of information. We’ll try our best to sort the situation out./=/\=

Once any questions got handled the WAY too cheery Commander Bobby smiled and said =/\= Best of luck to you Captain! Keep us appraised here at DS K-5 of your progress! Commander Bobby out! =/\= he said ending the call then.

GM CockRoach

=/\=Thank you, Commander. We’ll be in touch. Sentinel out./=/\=

When the screen went off, Th’elin ran his hands through his hair and sighed. These outer colony assignments weren’t quite what he’d hoped for, but there was little choice but to deal with them when they popped up. Silently, he set the small ornate kettle going and then changed into the rest of his clean uniform. Once he’d slipped his boots on, he poured hot water into a metal teacup and left the teabag in, taking the drink with him as he grabbed a clipboard and left his quarters.
