As it was still 0530 am, the Gamma shift would still be on duty when Th’elin stepped off the turbo-lift and onto the bridge. Managing to move quickly for a tired man, the Andorian handed off the clipboard with his orders to a nearby adjutant and leaned over to quietly relay those orders the officer occupying his chair. Then he raised his head and gave the order to change course and leave Deep Space k-5.

“Helm, set course for Sigma 9 mining colony, warp factor four, please. I’ll expect an update on our estimated arrival time when Alpha shift comes on duty.”

Then, Th’elin stood back and took a sip of tea, letting the sounds of the bridge and it’s myriad devices wash over him.

The NE at helm nodded. =/\= Aye sir…=/\= He said, in a few minutes the soft thunks of docking clamps disengaging was felt and heard. A bit later they cleared DS K-5 and went to warp 4. It was at this point the NE at helm blushed redder than a tomato as he realized earlier he had communicated to the Captain his reply by the bridge comm system even though the Captain was a few feet behind him. “…Errr eta to Sigma 9 mining colony at current speed, 3 days 18 hours..” he said more softly.

The Captain chuckled, deciding not to ride the NE this time. He expected a lot of his bridge crewmen, but pulling the best out of people didn’t mean hammering them for each and every misstep. “Thank you, Ensign.”

Amber wasn’t normally a morning person, but seeing stars moving outside her window had piqued her curiosity and she arrived on the bridge about 30 minutes prior to shift starting. Giving a nod to the young NE at the comms, she settled down to set her ear buds in. “Good morning, Captain. I don’t think taking the ship out counts as a run around the block so I’m guessing we have something to do, finally?” She smiled and settled back to go over the last shift logs so she was up to speed.

“Good morning, Lieutenant.” He smiled to her with a little more familiarity than using ranks might imply. “Looks like more police work this time, I’m afraid. That’s life in the outer sectors though, it seems…”

Her smile back was just as familiar. “It’s all right. We’ve had mad cows, I guess there is plenty more to see and do after that. Perhaps pigs this time? Or maybe a wild Sehlat lurking in some corner of a dark meteor waiting to pounce.” She laughed.

A few minutes later, Petty Officer Banner walked onto the bridge. He was over an hour early but he could not sleep anymore. After relieving the NE at the helm he sat down and took his station.

PO Banner

OOC: Capt might i suggest calling a staff meeting to get the mission brief going to everyone?

GM CockRoach

(Fair enough, Roachkins… lol)

The Captain nodded to Banner as he took his place, then leaned over and flipped two rocker switches, and pushed a button on the Command Chair’s arm. This opened a shipwide channel on the intercom.

=/\=This is the Captain speaking, Senior Officers, please report to the deck one briefing room by 0600 hours. Repeat, Senior Officers please report for Mission briefing at 0600, Thank you. Zarath, Out./=/\=

As he closed the intercom channel, Th’elin waved down a Yeoman and discreetly arranged for a large amount of hot coffee to be made available in the briefing room. Early hours might be required, but at least he could appease his people with hot coffee.

-Zarath, CO

Making sure the comm system in the briefing room were in order to record the meeting, she settled back to look at the records from the previous ships to see if there was anything to gleen from them in regards to what was coming up.
