Hello one and all!
Firstly thank you all for being so patient while we get things settled in here.
So behind the scenes, I’ve been communicating between the previous command team and I believe Dave by all rights should have some sway as to how we do things at first since this was his child. The first thing you may have noticed is the MOTD change, this is almost complete pending images to be uploaded.
You may ask ‘Why the Change Jake?’ Well I felt like I needed to really bring home the TOS colour scheme and to me, that means Silver, Reds, Blues and Yellows! So I worked this into the MOTD and changed the layout to provide more information (relevant that is) and a more eye-catching appearance (once the images are done). I do hope you approve and any errors on my part please let me know and Ill fix them ASAP!
The next is the timeline shift I spoke in detail to several people about this weighing up the pros and cons I decided to shift us to 2263. “An outcry!”, “Bring me his head!”, “Has he lost his mind!” Well maybe, but the reason for this is simple. For me the TOS era is 2265 to 2269 where it then goes into the Movie scene and we start butting heads with those guys in weird uniforms on the Merrimack. On the flip side to that 2250 for me was to close to the discovery Era where this simm simply is not. So I chose 2263, the biggest factor is that it is a good distance from the movie era, and also pushes us away from Disco which from now we will ‘disregard’ as cannon but also this sets us two years before Kirk is given the keys to the Enterprise allowing us so much exploration and off scene story-making, we truly are the wild west and not living in Kirks shadow. Kiiiiiiiirk! (See what I did there)
EDIT: Were also Using Set Alpha of the TOS uniforms which can be found on Memory Alpha but short story: Command Div- Yellow, Engineering/Operations Div - Yellow, Security Div- Red, Medical Div - Blue, Science Div - Blue
So where do we go from here? As of right now, we are doing a soft reset. The post in which we are getting a feel for the new ship at K-5 is our starting point. From there we will transition to the ship and reporting to the CO, XO and Medical, this is a great time for some character building and maybe spreading some rumour about the new guys. This will give Roach the time to modify (if he neds too) any simm to fall in line with the new timeline as I know I have certainly thrown a spanner in the works.
On that note please feel free to come to me with any short term side-sims until we are ready to brave the frontier.
