Rand looked at Randy and took a tricorder, and draped the strap over his head and across his chest. The nice thing about them they could pretty much pull up any information the CO or XO wanted, or at least the file names. If it was too much data they would still need a computer terminal. She grabbed the CO’s tray and once Randy had the XOs she headed for the turbolift. “Little trick I learned, always hold onto the stylus. That way if they start to flip from one report to the next you can obviously offer it to them to remind them to actually sign the report or form. In the end we are responsible for the signatures. So until you know if the XO is going to be proactive about it, keep hold of the stylus. Offering it to them in order to sign the report is easier than calling out the command staff for not doing their job.”

She grabbed the handle of the lift, tray balanced on one hand, “Bridge” she called to the computer and the lift took off. “Also set the food down and then give him the PaDD to take. Another one of those tricks. Once those reports are signed we have to send them back to the appropriate departments. Those departments can’t continue their work till they get them. So, no matter how siren like your food, Randy, the reports first. Otherwise the whole ship is in a state of limbo. We have to make sure that doesn’t happen.” She grinned, “I rather like this position. The power behind the face.” She waggled her brows at him as the lift stopped. She stood up straight and walked onto the bridge for the first time.

Randy took a gulp and walked out onto the bridge, the beeping and blinking lights coupled with all of the high ranking officers actually had Randy a little nervous. He took a gulp and shook is head a little, not that his spiked hair was going anywhere it was a way he could signify his ‘shaking off’ of the worry. Taking the food in one hand and felt the weight of the tricorder before slapping on a smile and heading towards the XO. He set the tray down removed the stylus from the bulky PaDD before holding it towards the man and said, “Commander? Here are the documents for your review.” The pen was at the the ready and he just knew he looked uneasy, however it was going to be a learning process. Despite how confident he might feel alone or with his sister, this was the real thing.

“Bridge,” said the new Lieutenant Commander, and the turbolift ascended the two decks, from deck 3 to deck 1. Once the turbolift’s doors opened, Roman stepped out onto the bridge, addressing the officer currently at the comms station. “Open a shipwide channel, make sure it reaches the station, too,” he said.

=^= All Sentinel personnel to report back aboard the ship in preparation for departure. All section heads report ready status =^= he said over the comms. Once everyone was back aboard and ready to go, the ship could leave for the mining colony.

OOC: Each department should start their own main sim thread preparing their section. Ready status just means ready to depart.

OOC: I assume you’ll be doing a briefing of some sort for all the DH’s? Or are you doing a ship wide comm briefing everyone at once and taking remote questions?

OOC: Yes to both. We’ll move this post along as I am keen to get underway but please if you haven’t had your section report in please back fill here.

~ Lt Cmdr Alden, XO

From the helm, SCPO Black Wolf finished making a few adjustments to his console, his long black hair tied into a braid which ran down to the middle of his back. He turned to address the first officer. “Sir, Flight Control is green across the board. Shuttle bay reports that shuttles are all at 100% operational. Weapons Control is green lit. Docking clamps are ready to be released at the captain’s orders, and navigation is ready to plot our destination.”

SCPO Black Wolf

Stepping onto the bridge for the first time before setting underway Elijah could feel the buzz of excitement as people went about their work. “Mr Alden have all station reported green yet?” Elijah’s walk was slow but steady as he finally made his way towards the centre chair. He took another 360 turn nodding as if to say ‘Yes this will do‘ before sitting down. The chair was oddly comfortable considering the materials it was made out of with armest fille with different multicoloured buttons he wondered if there wasn’t anything he could do from that seat.

“Signal K-5, release the docking clamps. Navigation set a course for Sigma 9 and ready warp engines.” Elijah touched the panel on his chair which opened the ships internal voice communication =^=This is your Captain speaking, we have been asked to investigate a series of disappearings on Sigma 9 we dont know what or who is causing them but it is our job to find out. Prepare your sections and continue with your departmental check-ins during our flight Section heads report to the briefing room in one hour. Carmichael out=^=

Rand set the food down on the rather impressively large arm of the captain’s chair. “Your breakfast captain.” And retaining the stylus in her hand, picked up and handed him the PaDD, “Your morning reports and the information on Sigma 9 you requested, Sir.”

“Ah Brilliant, thankyou Yeoman” Elijah took the breakfast in one hand and placed it on the arm of his chair before taking the PaDD from Rand. He looked it over and began reading the information displayed the smell of his bagel, the freshly baked bread and smoked smell causing his stomach to grumble. Still he had a job to do before he could eat.

The colony on Sigma 9 was your run of the mill mining colony that had sprung up when the simple precious ore and metals mining rig had expanded from family growth. It was home to about 950 souls at last report about a month ago from a Federation mining freighter doing a pick up. Check on the Sigma 9 system was pretty run of the mill. Four planets, a pair of small asteroid and cometary fields, and not much else. Nothing really stood out as being flight wise dangerous.
Contained on data disks were further information packets sent from Command they were outlined as follows:
-Sigma 9 Mining Consortium History and Service
-Sigma 9 Senior Personnel Records and Service
-Sigma 9 Survey Scans
-Known Stellar Traffic and Shipping Information (Past 3 months)

Once the order was given docking clamps hissed and thudded off the hull, leaving the Sentinel free to depart at their leisure.

GM CockRoach

“Helmsman, have the docking clamps been released?” He asked looking just to his 11 O’clock towards the back fo the Helman, the navigator to his right and between the two of them the viewscreen. “Viewscreen on” He ordered and the view of the Starbase took up the majority of the screen. “Take us out, nice and steady clear the starbase by 1000m and prepare to engage warp engines factor 1, lets give the engines a little run out before increasing speed”

The turbo lift doors parted and Ford stepped out, eyes sweeping the bridge. The alpha crew was busy at work, as he expected. The captain was receiving morning briefing from his yeoman - and breakfast?

“Good to be the captain,” he said as approached the chair, nodding to Rand. “Morning, Cap,” he greeted the commanding officer. “Security and fire control stand ready for departure.”

“It is indeed Mr Ford, perhaps one day you’ll have your breakfast brought to you too.” Elijah said with a smile passing the PaDD back to Rand “Dismissed Yeoman, thankyou again I’ll call you if I need you. Go relax for a bit.” He gave her a polite nod, it was good to give her some time off he knew if he didn’t she’d simple be on call and edge the entire time.

He glanced at the meal before giving back on Carmichael. “Murders?” he asked, referencing the ship wide announcement. “We’re an awful big police force to send after some killings.”

COS Ford

“Yes I’d agree but there are murders and disappearances. The murders we can leave mostly to the authorities but missing people is something we may be better equipped to handle. I imagine you and our teams will be particularly busy on this one.” Sitting down Elijah took a bite of his slightly colder bagel but it was still nice, hed have to thank the chefs.

Swallowing the quarter he turned to his Helmsman, “Whats our position Petty Officer are we ready to engage warp engines?” The second part of his question was aimed more to the Engineering chief on the bridge.
