With the new ship and crew arriving, Kohana had almost forgotten his pre-arranged date with Lt. T’Pria. After their last mission they had agreed to get to know each other better and the helmsman was going to keep that promise. The Vulcan Chief engineer intrigued him as no other woman ever had. Beneath that stoic seriousness he had seen the edges of a sarcastic humor. He wondered what other secrets she was hiding beneath the logical stoicism.
He rang the chime to her quarters and waited patiently for a reply. In his hand he held a small potted Kal’ta plant. Its deep violet leaves edged with iridescent blue, somehow made him think of T’Pria as soon as he had seen the plant in the ship’s arboretum. He wasn’t yet sure why, but it did. . . .
