Elijah stood up, “Well if I’m going to have to work up a sweat I’m not doing it in my freshly cleaned tunic the replicators can’t replicate the smell of a good fabric softener the Yeoman uses.” The Captain proceeded to undress until he was down to his socks and trousers, he was shirtless and started to flex his arms and stretching . “So cardio or muscular endurance first docitano?” He asked copying the mans accent.

From the outer room Rand could be heard laughing softly, and then calling back into the room. “I’ll be sure to pass the compliment on to Randy. The boy has a way with clothes.” Not only did Randy have his own sense of style, that was amazing if you asked Rand, he took exceptional care of his wardrobe too. And the first thing he’d done when he saw Rand working on laundry was tsk at her and snatch them away. Not that she was doing anything wrong, but he could do it better. She also got a two hour lecture on how to properly take care of her clothes, and warned her another was coming on how to take care of the captain and commander’s wardrobes as well.

Eiros kept his eyes elsewhere as his captain prepared for the rest of the check-up “ah yes Kapteeni! Cardio will be first, im sure you know the drill?” He asked facing his captain once again looking over his captain’s body noting physical aspects aside from the scans he had taken moments prior. “We will be doing cardio first then endurance next. And nice take on my accent. It can be rather difficult for others to mimic. But I like how your attempt.” He said with a much-pleased smile of appreciation before proceeding”alright Kapteeni lets get cardio done and out of the way shall we?” He asked as he finished preparing everything for the cardio portion of the check up.

Elijah begrudgingly laid with his back against the bed and raised his legs placing each foot into the Cardiovascular machine. He assumed having it upside down would mean blood wouldn’t run naturally towards his legs making it all that much more difficult. “Ok Doc, Just say when” And after a few moments Elijah began pumping his legs back and forth, with every step it seemed his legs grew heavier and more tired but continued to pump, building up a sweat as he did.

Eiros grinned as he watched the captain and his vital signs carefully making mental notes as he watched, “just another moment or two captain. It’ll be done before you know it” he said looking over at the captain watching him for a few seconds before looking at his vital signs again.

“I’ll do before I know you” he grunted pushing himself a little harder sweat now well and truly settling on every possible exposed surface of his skin, his trousers felt a little more tight or it could have been his muscles screaming out a thin her wasn’t sure. After a few more minutes of pumping his legs the machine let out several long beeps indicating the test had been finished and his legs fell to the bio be, “and doctors wonder why people avoid their medical check-ups”

Eiros chuckled shaking his head rather amused by his captain, “Oh Kapteeni you sound like your over exaggerating! It’s not that bad.” He said with a lovely cheeky smile” alright sir last one muscle endurance. Im sure you know the drill by now.” He said logging the vital signs as he went, then prepared the necessary equipment for his Kapeenti to do muscle endurance, Eiros himself was definitely not a fan of muscle endurance but understood that it was required. “Alright sir ready?” He asked looking towards his Captain.

Rand chuckled from her spot from where she was waiting. People avoided doctors because they were afraid the results would be bad and they would have to do MORE of these exercises. She wondered absently how Randy was doing tracking down Lt Cmdr Alden. They had made both Carmichael and Alden’s appointments back to back to make sure they got done. Also being the chief science officer, Rand hoped Randy went looking in the science labs first.

Rand glanced around, glad to see that Doc Hudson wasn’t around to ask her more questions. A harried looking tech came in looking for her. She spoke to him in hushed tones for a moment before he left. She took note on the PaDD she was always carrying and resumed her wait.

Elijah had picked up the two weights for the final assessment, cardio and muscular endurance he hated them both, especially with a crowd. He began doing the repetitions he was used to, 1, 2 , 3 and working up to 10 and back down again so by the time he was done he’d have completed 100 repetitions and dint his arms feel it, maybe he’d get Rand to run him an ice bath when they were done. “Are you happy now doctor?” He said rubbing both arms and rotating them around.

  • Captain Elijah Carmichael

Eiros watched his captain carefully as he did the repetitions. Eiros would never verbally admit but he enjoyed the mild torture of cardio and muscle endurance, but at the same time he hated doing them himself. Eiros made some mental notes as he logged everything, Eiros was decently surprised by the captain’s endurance, “im impressed Kapteeni your body response to the endurance was a typical response. Now im sure you’ll detest against this idea but adding a little endurance to say your morning routine, if you haven’t already, of course, would help keep your body in shape so these visits are less intimidating. But it’s merely an idea.” He said as he passed a towel to his captain to dry away the sweat. “Overall you are physically fine, a little under average but not concerning enough, I would say you are healthy.” He said adding some final mental notes as he finished up the check up.

Taking the towel Elijah nodded once and smiled, “Yes well I will certainly take your recommendation under advisement, perhaps a little less snacking and more running is something I should look at doing. It would certainly give Ensign Rand here another excuse to jump on my back” He chuckled, “Well if there’s nothing yes Doc I think I need to go freshen up before touring the ship’s department. Thankyou again” He held out his hand and towel.

As Carmichael came out he would see Rand writing on a PaDD, was it something he should be suspicious of or not? “See, captain, that wasn’t so bad. Half an hour and you’re done. Shall we continue on with your checklist?” She stepped out of sickbay with him and back down the corridor. “If you would like to start running captain, you could join one of Lt Fordham’s classes. He begins ever class with a warm-up run, or,” she hesitated, which wasn’t normal for Rand while on duty, “if it’s not out of place to offer, I run every morning. You’re welcome to join me.”
Yeoman Rand

Elijah considered Rands suggestions and noted her slight hesitation being who he was decided to call it out. “I noted a slight hesitation when suggesting I could run with you Yeoman? Care to share why?” It was highly likely that she either felt uncomfortable going on a run with the Captain or just felt it was inappropriate to offer, but Elijah felt that she needed to be completly open with her, for her to be the best Yeoman.
