Taking the towel Elijah nodded once and smiled, “Yes well I will certainly take your recommendation under advisement, perhaps a little less snacking and more running is something I should look at doing. It would certainly give Ensign Rand here another excuse to jump on my back” He chuckled, “Well if there’s nothing yes Doc I think I need to go freshen up before touring the ship’s department. Thankyou again” He held out his hand and towel.

As Carmichael came out he would see Rand writing on a PaDD, was it something he should be suspicious of or not? “See, captain, that wasn’t so bad. Half an hour and you’re done. Shall we continue on with your checklist?” She stepped out of sickbay with him and back down the corridor. “If you would like to start running captain, you could join one of Lt Fordham’s classes. He begins every class with a warm-up run, or,” she hesitated, which wasn’t normal for Rand while on duty, “if it’s not out of place to offer, I run every morning. You’re welcome to join me.”
Yeoman RandElijah considered Rands suggestions and noted her slight hesitation being who he was decided to call it out. “I noted a slight hesitation when suggesting I could run with you Yeoman? Care to share why?” It was highly likely that she either felt uncomfortable going on a run with the Captain or just felt it was inappropriate to offer, but Elijah felt that she needed to be completly open with her, for her to be the best Yeoman.

Rand tilted her head to the side, a personality trait indicating she was thinking, considering his question and her answer, in an honest way. “Part of my job, Sir, is to be aware of how you are perceived by the crew. There are assumptions that fly wildly about Star Fleet about Captain’s and their female yeoman. It is drilled into us from the first day we enter the command support tract. I was considering the crew’s perception of such an activity should you choose to accept it. By nature of our positions we spend a great deal of time alone together.” Honesty was another item drilled into them, even if it was uncomfortable. Though the instructors probably didn’t mean for her to share personal information, Rand took it literally. “I attended one of Lt Fordham’s training classes. I drew more attention to myself than I’m comfortable with. So I was also considering if that might skew perceptions as well.” She lifted a shoulder in a slight shrug. “The offer was genuine, I run at 0430 every morning. Though,” a grin crossed her face, “I wouldn’t want to be accused of jumping on your back, yet.”
