E’usah made sure her uniform was spotless and wrinkle free, her mane was pulled back into a braid and every hair was in place, she had on the sandals that she seldom wore, but they seemed appropriate right now. She extended her claws and made sure they were all the same length and neatly trimmed. She wanted to make a good first impression on her superiors. She stepped off the turbolift and onto the bridge for the first time. This was where she would spend most of her time, plotting and checking their course and speed to whatever distant place they were sent to. She walked over to the Navigators station, next to the helm and gently ran a hand over it,.... it had a familiar feel to it. Taking a deep breath she left the bridge and headed for the XO’s office, standing outside the door she took a deep breath, checked her uniform again and pressed the door chime with a barely extended claw.

The door opened after just a moment, and sitting inside at a perfectly neat desk was Roman, the ship’s first officer. A tall man with dark brown hair, he sat with perfect posture behind the desk, gesturing to a chair in front of the desk. His uniform was spotless, neatly ironed, his hair carefully and purposefully combed. His shoes, if they hadn’t been hidden behind his desk, were an expensive sort of loafer often worn with a suit. “Have a seat. I am Lieutenant Commander Alden.” He said. He had a crisp, posh English accent. “And you must be Ensign E’usah, correct?” He asked.

Thus far, E’usah had succeeded in making a good first impression. In timeliness and neatness, Roman was wholy impressed, though how she conducted the interview that was to proceed next, would decide his full first impression of her. His reputation was that he was strict and by the books, with little concern for any sort of excuse one could offer.

E’usah entered the neat office, noting how everything was placed in perfect order. She approached the desk and saluted, then proferred the PaaD with her orders. “Thank you for the seat sir, and yes, I’m Ensign E’usah the new Navigator reporting for duty.” E’usah sat on the forward edge of the chair, both sandaled feet placed neatly together, and her tail curled across them, hands folded in her lap. She had heard from Quinn that the LCdr was a stickler for rules and regulations, his accent was odd but pleasant, no worse she was sure than her own purring lisp at times.

He signed the orders, officially transferring her to the Sentinel, and then handed the PaDD back. Having stood to greet her, he took his own seat once again. “What is it that made you want to join Starfleet?” He asked. As he did, he watched her and how she responded.

E’usah shifted a bit in her chair after accepting back the PaDD, ” I have four siblings, two younger than me and two older brothers who are also serving in Star Fleet one as a science officer and the other as an engineer. On their rare visits home they would tell about the places they’d been, or the other races they had seen,… the wonders of space. Caitians by nature are a curious race, and are known to have been explorers and searchers for millennia.” E’usah turned slightly in her chair, and began using her hands to accentuate her words. “I was always good with mathematics, and physics and my brothers convinced me to apply to the Academy. I was accepted and began taking advanced courses, settling on Stellar and Interstellar Navigation and Piloting. I was awarded advanced degrees in two disciplines, and graduated early, The Sentinel came up as needing a Navigator, and here I am....... I hope to serve to the best of my ability and to make Star Fleet my career, Sir.”
E’usah realized she may have overstated her case, but she had worked hard to get here, and was proud of her accomplishments.
