ooc: I decided to give Kovan a second job lol so uh, here he is! Second check-in!

ic: Kovan made his way through the engineering deck to the CE’s office, taking the straight path and ignoring those he passed by. They were not relevant, and therefore safely by passed. He did not return any passing smiles, nor return empty greetings. A pointless waste of breath, saying hello to someone just because you walk by them. All for the excuse of being “friendly”. Before hitting the door chime, he straightened his collar and the bottom hem of his shirt and schooled his expression into something neutral and less scowl.

Ensign ch’Sirhc (COMMO, ENGR)

After a short while an NE walked up to him “Sorry fella, the chiefs not there, she’s up there” he said pointing up to the ceiling of engineer “I’ll get her for you” he said opening his com =c= Hey Chief, there’s a fella here for you=c= he said as he looked up at a hatch on the ceiling.

=c= On the way.=c= came Cleolets reply. Moment later Cloelet emerged from the hatch and dropped seamlessly to the gangway beneath her. She then headed down the stairs and ch’Sirhc could see her properly. She was a tall strong looking caitian with ginger fur, yellow eyes and a slender tail. she was attractive by most people standards, she wore the standard red dress but no boots, as her feet/paws wouldn’t fit in standard ones. To see a catian was rare they had only just joined the federation and while this ship had two onboard that in its was unheard of anywhere else.

But a Catian DH was another thing entirely. Cleolet was one of the first caitian senior officers. (OOC: This is due to the year reset, as caitian joined the federation a couple years before our new ship timeline starts)

She eyed the Andorian for a moment then spoke “Lieutenant Junior grade Cleolet, Chief Engineer. what can I do for you?” she asked her tone authoritive but warm.

Lieut j.g. Cleolet (CE)

Kovan nodded to the NE and would have gone on his own but the NE went ahead and com’ed the CE. Not that it mattered, he could wait, and it seemed he didn’t have to wait long. A caitian appeared before him. That wasn’t something you saw everyday. Kovan’s expression remained the same as he calmly addressed the department head. (Meeting new aliens hardly shocked Kovan. The awe of seeing something so alien to your own wore off quickly. Especially when said awesome, new life form took your naivete as the sign of an easy mark. That was a mistake you learn to only make once.) “Sir, I am Ensign Kovan ch’Sirhc, new communications and engineering officer.”

Kovan was typical of an andorian male: blue skinned and his white hair pulled back into a short pony-tail at the base of his neck. Not nearly as tall as Cleolet but what was the point in comparing height? “Reporting for duty, sir.”

Ensign ch’Sirhc (COMMO, ENGR)

Celolet nodded “Good to meet you, an please I know the regulations say for you to call me Sir but I prefer Ma’am or Chief” she said as she walked into her office motioning for Kovan to follow her. Once in side it was clear that Cleolet spent hardly any time in her office, it was not decorated or personalised but everything had it’s place and everything was neat.

“Please take a seat” she said gesturing to the chair in front of a standard desk while she walked over to a jug of water “water?” she asked kindly.

Once Kovan had given his answer Cleolet took a seat and turned on her computer “Give me a sec to pull up your file” she said simply.

“We’ve lost power to our impulse engines and warp drive, the ship is under attack, we need to escape or the ship will be destroyed. You can fix it, but you have to draw power from another system. You have two options life support on the bridge, which will put the senior officers in danger or the deflector shields, which will put other sections of the ship and junior officers in danger. What do you pick?” she asked as she read his file.
