“Hello, Ensign.” Haadok greeted with a slight bow. “I’m Doctor Haadok. What can I do for you?”

— Haadok, DO

E’usah noticed the somewhat frenzied chaos that seemed to pervade medical and wondered if it was always like this. A person she assumed was a Dr. approached her and introduced themselves. “Ma’am, I’m Ensign E’usah the new Navigator and I was told to report here for my boarding physical.” E’usah extended the PaDD with her schedule on it.” She was a bit nervous and her tail was gently swishing back and forth.

Haadok scanned the extended PaDD and gestured for E’usah to keep it. “Of course,” she considered the navigator for a split-second, “come with me.”

“Have you serve aboard a starship before, Ensign?” Haadok asked in a painful attempt to engage in small talk and—hopefully—dial down E’usah’s apparent discomfort. She gathered a tricorder and PaDD on their way to an empty biobed, where she flicked her wrist for E’usah to take a seat.

“Before we begin,” she continued, “do you have any immediate concerns?”

— Haadok, D.O.

E’Usah hopped up and sat on the indicated biobed, her feet dangling several inches off the floor, she curled her tail around and across her lap. “No ma’am, this is my first assignment right out of the academy,.......I don’t have any concerns medically, just anxious to get started. I kept up with all the recommended vaccinations and boosters at the academy, so I should be pretty good, I think.” E’usah stretched her feet and ankles, letting her claws fully extend then retract. “How long have you been on board ma’am ?”

E’usah - NAV

“Congratulations,” Haadok bowed her head.

“How often do you feel anxious, Ensign?” She knew anxiety accompanied new assignments, but she refused to subscribe to correlation before she knew more about E’usah’s experience.

“This is my first tour with Sentinel,” Haadok’s face scrunched minutely in thought, “so I had been aboard only a few days longer than you.”

— Haadok, D.O.

E”usah thought a minute, feet swinging slightly, “Oh I’m a bit anxious about the assignment and all, but that’s about it. I think I’m more excited than anything else.” E’usah cocked her head to one side slightly, looking the doctor in the face with her bright blue eyes, “How about you ma’am, how did you feel about being assigned to the Sentinel ?”

E’usah - NAV

“What excites you?” Haadok seized a tricorder from the adjacent table, lifting it slightly to apprise E’usah of her intent to run a scan. “Haadok is just fine, Ensign.” She peered over the tricorder with an almost cordial glint in her eyes. “I was…” Haadok hesitated. Instinct tempted her to mask her uneasiness, but she chose to be open. “Change is uncomfortable for everyone, but I’ve found the discomfort subsides once you find something to latch onto—a routine, in my case.”

“I am going to run a brief scan,” she warned, “please sit still.”

— Haadok, D.O.

E’usah laid back on the biobed and curled her tail across her lap as the Dr started the scan. “What excites me most at the moment is the idea of being out here, and all the possibilities we may face. I realize this is my first assignment out of the academy, and my first time in space other than the training trips we took while there.” E’usah took a deep breath being careful not to move, “I guess just the immenseness of it all is what has me excited right now. ” The scanner beeped and E’usah saw a row of green icons displayed, “I hope that means I’m good to go.”

OOC: Nothing found, other than a minor sinus allergy.

E’usah - NAV
