Rand left Cpt Rogers and Lt Cmdr Alden and went directly to the closet that was the yeoman’s office. She complied all the information that each department needed and sent it out with priority and labelled “New Mission Objectives and Assignments from Cpt Rogers.”

Haadok tore her gaze from a patient’s bloodwork to the priority alert hovering above their name. Curiously, she touched her fingertip to it and watched as the Captain’s orders filled her screen.

General Mission Orders (All Departments)

Our destination is known as ‘The Abyss’ which is a massive stellar nebula that spans across several light years. The Exploration Command wants the Sentinel to be stationed in the area to study the nebula, seek out intelligent life, and find systems with potential resources that could be beneficial for Starfleet. At warp factor seven, we will arrive there in a week’s time. That will provide us with the opportunity to study the data that was recovered from the initial research probes during our trek there.

An exploratory mission. Haadok pursed her lips in thought. Abyss was a rather dour moniker, but it intrigued her. Although she doubted Sentinel faced immediate danger, she took a mental note to ensure medical teams prepared for the worst. (And, per their irrational cheerfulness, hoped for the best.)

–The Abyss Survey Probe Data (All Departments)

Data has been uploaded to the ship’s central computer and is available for all department heads. Dissemination of information is up to each DH to assign as they see fit.

Driven by duty and genuine curiosity, Haadok turned to the computer terminal. “Computer,” she greeted, “what can you extrapolate from the recent data on the Abyss?”

=/\= Processing…=/\= The computer intoned emotionlessly.

–Possible Intelligent Life Observations (Medical/Security)

be prepared to tend to or operate on any already known intelligent life in the area to ensure readiness for potentially new patients.

Yeoman Rand

Haadok lifted her gaze from the PaDD, briefly reconsidering the data, and tapped the comm button. =c= Haadok to Nurse Farquharson and Doctor Yarwood. =c= She began. =c= Please report to my office at your earliest convenience. =c=

— Haadok, D.O.

Finally a print out came up with the computer reading it. =/\= Analysis complete. Probe data shows 4 systems with possible mineral resources and/or possible habitation by alien life forms. The Abyss presents possible sensory problems due to the flux of lighting and gas patterns. Recommend visual filter on all viewing screens and crew to avoid external view port viewing during more turbulent periods. =/\= It reported.

Haadok pursed her lips in thought, making a mental note to look into visors and temporary corrective treatments. But that required… “what data do we have on the emission spectrum?” Haadok knew filters of any kind were unique to the EMR. She couldn’t mosey up to Engineering requesting infrared filters when they were dealing with microwaves.

(OOC: I’ll assume Alwyn have made all of his reporting-in exams so I can throw him in the Main Sim)
Alwyn was in his room, playing chess against the computer with his physical chessboard. He was only in “Easy” mode, but the computer was about to give him a final strike for the ninth time.

When he heard the comm’s order, the ensign ended the chess program running on his personal monitor and put his chessboard away. He quickly changes from his regular clothes to his uniform and walked to sickbay.
After a few minutes, Sickbay’s doors opened, and Alwyn stepped in. He walked toward Haadok’s office, and ring the bell, notifying him of his presence.

Enseign Alwyn Yarwood

A soft wail parted the doors to reveal a young Vulcan woman settled behind a desk. “Doctor Yarwood,” she bowed and jabbed her stylus at an empty seat. “I trust you’re well?” Haadok paused only briefly to await his response before abandoning pleasantries. “I prefer Nurse Farquharson is here to discuss details, but we’ve been assigned a new mission.” She nudged the order-containing PaDD toward him. “How familiar are you with nebulae?”

— Haadok, D.O.
