Cleolet had been standing behind the pair for there entire conversation and was surprised only know someone was acknowledging her. She turned to ch’Sirhc “you need to reign it in a bit. We are all aware of the dangers of nebulas.” She said sternly but not unkindly “And chief optimism is great but not everyone as optimistic as you” she added turning to Karl as she spoke

Karl’s grin turned sheepish “Of course, Ma’am. Apologies” he said in an earnest tone. She was right of course, she did have the makings of a good senior officer and Chief.

“Now as for where I want you. Chief i want you to run a diagnostic on the power system, then the weapons then the defensive systems. Log the result and continue to monitor them as we get closer to the nebula. Anything out of the ordinary log it immediately and find me. clear?” she asked looking at Karl

“Copy that” He said packing his tools together and moving towards the diagnostic panel.

Once Karl had responded Cleolet turned to ch’Sirhc “Ensign. i want you to look over the data we have on nebulas and compile a list of ways they could effect the ship. you have experience with nebula damage so I want you to start coming up with contingency’s. Clear?” she asked

Once she had been given a response she continued “In the mean time. I’m going to rejig the damage control teams and run a diagnostic on the warp core. we reconvene in my office in 2 hours. We’ll go over our findings and come up with a battle plan and where best to place the two of you ” she said outlining her plan so far. if they where going to get through this they had to work together. Cleolet only hoped that Karl’s and ch’Sirhc’s completely different personalities wouldn’t clash to often and effect things to badly.

“Yes Ma’am” Karl called as he started the first diagnostic, going over the power systems.

Plucky attitude. Sure. Right. It wasn’t even meant as an insult, though it should have been. Kovan didn’t think the SPCO was the kind of person who used their kindness as a mask to cover deeper nastiness. If only that were the case. Kovan would have preferred that. No one annoyed him more than the truly kind and honest people. Kovan turned to the CE, and nodded after given his orders. “Aye, ma’am”, he answered and go to work.

Two hours was plenty of time, but he intended to do a through job. He accessed the ship database, going over the data on nebulas and jotting down notes, ideas and concerns upon his PaDD.

Diagnostics across all systems came back in the green, they were as good to go as they could be in that regard. As for nebula activity the biggest problem which did not have much of a solution was their sensor range would be drastically limited, and shields non-operative.

After two hours Cleolet headed into her office and went over her findings, the warp core was in good Knick, as it should be and she had managed to rejig the damage control teams. All she wanted was to make sure they crews had an extra body, but rejiging all her engineers to make sure everyone had a job and there where enough people to cover everything was a pain. she had also used the time to do some of her own research

When she was ready she called ch’Sirhc and Karl to her office.

Kovan entered the CE’s office, PaDD in hand and ready to give his report. “Ma’am I have the list you’ve requested but in summary our greatest concern is our lack of shields. While in the nebula they’ll be non-operative and without them any number of space debris and gases can come in contact with our ship. We’ll have to be vigilant as our sensors will be greatly reduced. We will have little to no warning for any kind of threats. From experience I know it’s best we stay proactive. There is are no minor issues when traveling through a nebula. Any small problem can spiral out of control or compound into a larger, more devastating issue.

“I have created a check-list for engineering. Listing damages and issues by priority and how to prevent or counteract them.” He offered his PaDD to Cleolet. Kovan used his two hours well, and used every second researching and composing his list. Even if he couldn’t remain in engineering due to his duty as a communications officer, at least the department could still benefit from his experience.

Karl, who had joined the younger Andorian, nodded at his report “Everything is in the green currently, the largest issues are as he says, no shields and limited sensors.” He said with a half-smile “Without the shields, a focus on the hull polarization system is essential for defence purposes” He added.

Cleolet listeredn to he two officers and nodded “Take a seat you two” she said gesturing to the chairs infront of her desk.

“Its a good thing we have the extra from the old transporter becasue Polarizing the hull will take a fair amount of power, that will have to be a priority.” she sad ass he read through Siehc’s padd “I was thinking about the sensor issues and i had an idea. What if we convert a few probes to become sensor boosters. it might not give us much of a boost but it would be better then nothing. ” she said looking at the two people in front of her “Like the ancient earth gadget, to boost… what was it called. Wifi, wifi had a short range but humans used booster to increase that range. Do you think it would be doable?” she asked her officers, she wanted to get there input.
