“You’ll have to notify me when that trial has concluded,” Roman said. He wasn’t sure if he’d actually take on a pet, but at least he could follow the trial on the starbase. Rand seemed like she was getting tired, and Roman realized it was a first, it was always him who fell asleep. Of course, they always had their nightly chats in his quarters. Roman was tired, too, but not as tired as he suspected Rand might be. “You look like you’re getting sleepy.”

~ Roman

It wasn’t something she was actually following, but had come across. But if he wanted to know the results she would make sure to keep an eye out for the reports. She sipped slowly at the tea and realized that probably wasn’t helping. Oh…she was being rude wasn’t she? He didn’t think she was bored or uninterested did he? Was that his way of telling her he wanted her to leave? The worry brought a slightly sharper focus than her relaxed state had. “I…I wasn’t…a few minutes ago. Gu..guess the tea is working.” Her voice slipped slightly back to normal, but not completely. She didn’t want him to think she wanted to leave or wasn’t enjoying the conversation. Totally the opposite, she just didn’t know if she should say or what to say.

Rand

Roman didn’t want her to leave, nor did he think she wasn’t enjoying the conversation, he just didn’t know if she wanted to fall asleep in here, which at this rate, it looked like she might do. He smiled as he sipped from his own mug, “It always does. Do you want to stay here?” He asked.

~ Roman

She smiled slightly in response to his, but her thoughts were totally not where his were and she misunderstood the question. She thought he was asking if she wanted to go somewhere else. And though a walk might help wake her up, the idea was to help him be able to sleep not keep him awake. Besides, “I don’t know where else we would go, and I don’t think my foot feels up to walking very far right now.” It had started to ache earlier, now it wasn’t but she was sure it would if she walked too far right now.

Rand

Roman grinned and shook his head. “I meant, you look like you’re going to fall asleep, I was asking if you wanted to go to bed, in your quarters. By your answer I’d guess that’s a ‘not yet’.” It wasn’t yet as late as Roman usually went to bed, and maybe that was why, despite his cup of tea being nearly empty, he didn’t seem all that tired yet. A walk seemed a terrible idea, he’d never fall asleep then. And it would make her foot worse.

~ Roman

In her quarters? Where else would she…oh! OH! She was about ready to fall asleep in the chair wasn’t she…she blushed softly, the image of herself falling asleep in his chair and ending up ‘staying the night.’ She was enjoying the conversation, listening him talk about when he was younger, but she was not prepared to wake up in his quarters later. The idea made her feel like she should be having a bout of anxiety, but it simply didn’t start. The actuality of it was she was too tired and was relaxed enough around him she didn’t actually feel ambitious about it. She wasn’t worried, right then, about how Roman might want her to react, she could just be honest…plus her nerves had decided to check out. They’d overworked enough for one day. “No, not yet, but I don’t think I want to fall asleep in the chair either.” She felt guilty, she knew it wasn’t that late, and she didn’t want to leave if he wasn’t tired, and leave him to deal with his difficulty sleeping alone.
