Rand was vaguely familiar with the title, but had never seen the movie, nor had she read the book. She leaned back against him when he sat down and the movie started.

After the first half hour it was clear that Rand was really into the movie and intrigued by the puzzles. She sat up a little, but still against him, leaning forward slightly in interest.

At the end when Sophie’s true identity was revealed she uttered shocked but pleased, “No!”

Rand

Roman could tell Rand was interested. He was leaned back slightly, enjoying the movie but he had seen it previously so he knew how it ended. When she vocalised her surprise at the end of the movie, Roman grinned. “I’m guessing you liked it, then?” He asked after the credits started.

Rand turned to look at him, for the first time in the last hour, so engrossed in the story she’d been, and nodded. “It was wonderful. It wasn’t all car chases and guns. But plenty of movement to the story line and in depth believable characters. It really made you think and the plot was engaging rather than pedantic. The credits said it was based on a book. I wonder if the ship’s computer has it on file.” She squeezed his hand, “I’m glad you picked it.”

Rand

Roman made a pfffft sound. “Action movies that are just explosions and gun chases aren’t worth the time. Action movies that actually have plot to them, on the other hand…” He nodded then and said, “The book is in the ship’s computer, I’ve read it from the computer’s archives before.” He smiled and looked down at her as she squeezed his hand, “I’m glad you liked it, it’s one of my favourites.”

“The late 20th/early 21st centuries seemed to be obsessed with them. Oh and ‘super heroes’.” She turned slightly, still with his arm around her and holding his hand, but she was facing him, making it easier to talk without creating a crick in her neck. “I can see why it’s one of your favorites though. I’m not sure what I’m more impressed by: the actor’s portrayal of Robert Langdon or the mind of the author who created such a complex and intriguing story. I can’t wait to read the book.”

Rand

Roman shook his head. “I never did understand the fascination with superheroes.” He adjusted his arm slightly as she turned, but it remained around her. “It’s an intriguing story. Personally, I prefer the book, but the movie did an excellent job as well.” He commented.
