“Some of the masters have their music recorded. I might show you sometime, should you like. And I believe you’re quite right.”
Kajhel moved around.
“I would love to hear it some times. Thank you, En.”
“But of course!” Kajhel would always get excited when people showed an interest in his own culture. It was a tiny culture – and compared to all other cultures in the federation, his species (the Aenar) were few and not very known. It made him feel nice and warm and fuzzy inside.
“Where is next?” he said cheerfully, enthusiastic about continuing his first day on board. He’s already had an excellent welcome and couldn’t wait for more to come.

“Next stop is an introduction to the XO, Cmdr Alden and then sick ay for your medical…” Rand stopped when she spotted Lt. Anders. “Ah, see. Morgan was right. We did run into him on his rounds.”
“I’d normally wait for you to come to my office lad,” said a voice slightly off to the side of where Kajhel was standing, “But I suppose there’s no time like the present.” Striding up alongside Ensign Kajhel, the slender, aubern-haired figure of Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders, the Sentinel‘s Chief of Security smiled and offered a hand, “Welcome aboard, Lieutenant Marcus Anders, Marc to me friends.”

Kajhel took Anders’s hand and shook it, “Pleased to meet you, sir”. He did not take the ‘Marc’ appellation as a mark that they would be friend, and decided to ignore it. He did not understand why his boss said so.
“In that case, I should take this opportunity to report to duty, sir. I am Kajhel, newly graduated from the Academy. I look forward to working under your instruction and mentorship, sir.”

“If I may Lt?” Rand spoke up quietly, “I will get En Kajhel’s medical check rescheduled so you have plenty of time. If you need anything En just use the ship’s comms to page me, and we can finish later,” Rand offered with a smile and then a nod for Anders and made herself scarce.
