Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders looked over the mission reports on his desk and sighed. Phaser accuracy while on away missions seemed to be dropping, which of course would be a bad sign if the Sentinel came into a combat situation again. There were times on a starship such as this one where a Security Chief had to take matters into his own hands. Taking one final swig of coffee, Anders rose and crossed to the communications panel on his desk, “=^= Anders to Captain Rogers, if you’re available ma’am, I’d like to see you in my office?”-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

Shirley sat at her desk reviewing the daily department reports when she heard Ander’s voice come across her communications system. She turned her attention to him and responded.
=^= I will be there shortly Lieutenant. Is everything alright over there?”=^=

”=^= No big emergency ma’am, I just need to show you something I’ve noticed about our recent away missions. =^=”

Shirley turned off the comm and closed out her reports. She stood up and made her way to the security office to meet with Anders. She looked forward to hearing what her Chief of Security had to tell her because an engaged department head was an aspect that she truly admired while serving under her command.
Upon entering the office, she approached him, “Lieutenant Anders, you mentioned that you needed to show me something about our recent away missions. What did you have to bring to my attention?”
Shirley folded her arms underneath her chest and had a calm expression on her face. Her emerald eyes made direct contact with him and took a genuine interest in what he had to tell her.

Anders spun his computer screen around to face Rogers, “As you can see ma’am,” he began, pointing to some of the data on the small screen, “I’ve been taking notes on all of the crew’s abilities with a phaser and, to be frank, it’s not been fantastic.”

Shirley leaned slightly, peered her eyes slightly, and took a look at the metrics listed on Anders’ screen. Her eyes shifted over to meet his, “And how do you plan to improve those metrics Lieutenant?” She raised an eyebrow for a brief moment as had an expression of curiosity evident on her face.

‘It occurs to me Captain,’ Anders said matter of factly, ‘That this crew appreciates the camaraderie of friendly competition. To that end, I propose we begin a ‘Starfleet Shootout’ on the phaser range. I got the idea from an old 21st century past time called,’ he checked a note on his PaDD, ‘Laser tag.’
