Leaning against a wall next to Kovan, Alwyn was silently looking at the situation and waiting with the crew for the colony to answer. For now, he didn’t have much to do, as he already gave orders to his team through the ship’s comm so they can be ready if they depart for the colony.

They surely take their time, thought the doctor. In an attempt to break the silence, he says to Kovan : “So, um… How’s your arm ?”

Lieutenant Alwyn Yarwood - CMO

It was a few hours later appropriate for the time delay in transmission to get there and back, and probably a bit of a delay for the comm techs to reply as needed to the complex setup when it came back in proper order and origin point. This time there was no snarky reply from a lower tech, but someone higher up on the chain in the government in this case someone they could verify was a Lt Colonel in their local militia forces named Rachel Steel. Included was needed security code verifications and a voice print. But a stern message came along, =/\= USS Sentinel, enough of these games! I have properly reprimanded the communications techs on our end for this nonsense. I would encourage the commanding officer of your ship to do the same for your own officer or officers who continue this! All governing personnel needing medical and psychological evaluations as per Federation regulations will be ready for your arrival. =/\= She said.

“Anyone else getting more nervous the closer we get to this colony,” Marcus asked, the edges of his fingers starting to turn white as he gripped his Security console.

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

When Kovan shared the reply with her, Rand turned back to face the back of the command chair. “We’ve received the correct security codes and encryptions from the colony captain.” She hoped that meant there was no further need for concern. Not wanting the captain or commander to be blind sided she printed out the response and handed it to Cmdr Alden with a slight shrug. Kovan had followed the protocols. She didn’t think a reprimand was needed, but that wasn’t her call. They did not want to show up and Rogers or Alden not be aware of the ire the exchange had caused.

After several more hours and a few days at warp (during which time I’m sure lots of side sim stuff happened!), the Sentinel finally dropped out of warp on the edge of the Vok system. They were soon passed through formal local system channels and were arriving in orbit of Vok III which was led by Lord Samuel Stevens III. They did not have long to wait till a hail came in on official channels from the main government facility below.

On the screen a regal old style royal British like family crest came up on the screen, then faded to show the main office of Lord Stevens. He was clearly a bit portly currently late 40s aged human man. Given his strong ties to old British royalty he sat with an air of authority and stature of someone from ‘fine’ breeding stock and upbringing with such strong held values and beliefs. He had a wash of red-blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and stood around 5‘9 or so in height when he would be standing.

Roman stood beside Shirley’s captain chair with his usual perfect posture and his own air of confidence and authority. His family had their own strong ties to British nobility and royalty, dating back to Earth’s twelfth century, the Duke of Salisbury. These were things drilled into him, that he’d never forgotten, and could easily handle looking like royalty for these colonists, in fact he still was nobility, with his brother having recently died, Roman was now the heir to his family’s entire estate. He was 6‘0’‘ and well built, clearly athletic and well taken care of, with his own neat brown hair and icy blue eyes. His uniform was perfect, without a wrinkle or flaw because any less would be unacceptable.

=/\= Ah the USS Sentinel arrives first to my corner of this collective colony. I understand it is time for my usual evaluations to see if I and my in heritors are fit to remain in charge of our colony under Federation Law. =/\= He said, his tone was one that if he had a choice he would prefer to not care about such things, but given the needs of his own colony and their two partners against Orion threats currently he recognized he had no other choice. =/\= I am as you must know Lord Samuel Stevens the Third. I welcome you to Vok III colony. You may send your landing party to perform your jobs in the next half hour. I will meet you with my advisors outside the main governing hall. Unless there is anything else currently to attend too you may take your leave from this communications channel..=/\= he said.

GM CockRoach

=/\= I trust we will have no trouble ensuring your right to remain in charge of your own colony, Lord Stevens. But the Federation has its protocols we must follow. I’m sure you understand. =/\= Roman said. His accent was perfect, spoken clearly with neat enunciation on his words in what would be called the King’s English. He smiled politely, he was really putting on his best manners for these colony leaders. He was familiar with their kind, the British nobility. It was the same as dealing with his own family to him.

They would only respond to his title and his ties to nobility and royalty. That was the best way to earn their respect. =/\= I am Sir Roman Alden, of the Alden estates, heir to the title of Duke of Salisbury, descendant of Henry II of England and Louis VII of France. I am also Commander and First Officer of this ship. = /\= Though it had been many years since Roman had used his entire, formal title and name, he had no trouble remembering it and said it as if it were the most important thing to him.

=/\= We look forward to meeting you outside your hall, Lord. I assure you, we will be most punctual. =/\= There was no further reason to attempt further communications, Roman was sure they wouldn’t listen unless their directions were followed precisely. A landing party to be sent in the next half hour, meeting the Lord and his advisors in front of their governing hall.

~ Cmdr Roman Alden, XO/CSO

When the screen deactivated, Marcus turned to Alden, “I can be ready to go in twenty minutes Commander.”

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

Rand wouldn’t laugh, but her eyes danced a bit at the exchange and the absurdity of hit. Alden was going to hate this stop, and she didn’t blame him one bit.

Yeoman Rand
Seeing Rand’s confusion about what happened, Alwyn couldn’t help but smile at her surprise. He had to say he was surprised too, as he didn’t expect Alden to pull off such a card from his sleeve. Alwyn was pretty sure the information will fly from one ensign ear to another in a few hours.

“Same goes for me, Commander”, said the doctor. “I’ll gather some personnel, and we’ll be ready to go.”

Lieutenant Alwyn Yarwood - CMO

Anders grinned, “Eee, I’ve been waiting for a chance to stretch me legs, will be a pleasure to accompany you Doctor Yarwood.”
