“Aye aye ma’am,” Anders said, then crossed the room to the communication panel again, “=^= Attention all senior staff, please report to the Phaser Range on Deck 10, by order of Captain Rogers. =^=” Anders chuckled to himself, turned to Rogers and said, “My first ship wide comm, how’d I do?”

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

Roman was the first to arrive to phaser range, grouchy as he had been called away from his labs to be here. Still, Roman recognized the importance of phaser training and practice. That sort of thing kept people safe on landing parties. So when he arrived he looked to Anders and then Rogers as if asking what specifically needed done.

Rand was not senior staff but when she’d sent the memo to security at Cpt Rogers’ request, the captain had ordered her to attend as well. That had led to the previous late night in the phaser range with Roman. Rand was currently in the cargo bay assisting with inventory counts. She finished the location she was working on, gave Helpful the list, and then left to report. If Anders told her to leave, she happily would, but she didn’t want to run the risk of Rogers being upset that she hadn’t shown up as ordered either. She entered the phaser range and found a quiet out of the way place to stand where she wouldn’t draw attention to herself, but couldn’t be accused of hiding either.

Yeoman Rand

“Come in folks, grab yourselves a pistol from the rack behind me.”

OOC: Changing the title to try and get more interest.

IC: Rand walked over to the rack and grabbed a pistol as instructed. She wasn’t sure she was every going to feel totally comfortable with a weapon but she understood the reason to be familiar with using it. She made sure the safety was on and moved back to her spot.

Yeoman Rand

“Which is your stronger hand Yeoman?” Anders asked Rand, taking a pen from out behind his ear.

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

“I’m left handed, Lt.” Rand said. In truth she was mostly ambidextrous, but preferred her left to her right.

Yeoman Rand

“Let me see you draw your pistol, I want to make sure you’ve got the speed down pat for when you need it.”

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

Anders wanted her to....draw her pistol to make sure she was fast enough....what was this high noon in the old west???? Rand looked at him a little confused and then drew the phaser as ordered.

Yeoman Rand

“Good Yeoman,” Anders said with a grin, “Your stance isn’t too bad either,” Anders began scribbling down some notes on his clipboard.

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

OOC: Still open to more people if they want it.

Paul was going down the corridor as he closed on the armory and headed the minor announcement about the senior staff to report to the phaser range. He moved towards the door to enter the area to see how things were going and to maybe get off a few minutes or so of practice. “Hello, Sirs!” Paul said trying to be polite. As he moved out of the way to get a phaser from the rack. Technically he did not need the practice at this time but he also wanted to keep his sharpness and was curious how the others faired on there shooting.

Ensign Paul Knight - Jo Security

Marcus smiled as he saw his brightest officer enter the room, “Ah, there you are lad, let’s see that draw of yours, show the rest of the mere mortals how its done,” he winked at Rand good-naturedly.

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

“Of course sir!” not to show off or brag about his own talents it was always practiced to get this good. As he prepared himself to draw and aim weapons and not fire unless he wanted him to fire at a target. He started going through his motions of drawing and aiming the weapon aimed away from the others so he did not misfire the weapon. He did this several times. “What do you think?” He asked calmly.

Lt Jg Paul Knight - Jo Security

“You’re getting faster lad, but remember to keep that grip tight, you don’t want it flying out of your hand before you can fire.”

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

“of course sir!” Paul said kindly to the officer for the advice.
He did not say much more unless asked a question to not to interrupt the others with there practice and training.

Ensign Paul Knight - Jo Security Officer

OOC: Sorry about dropping this thread guys, happy to keep going if people want?

OOC: I’m happy to keep going

The door opened again and in walked a familiar face to Rand, NL Tracey Morgan. “Morning Chief.” She said to Anders and waved to Knight as well. “Just finished my shift, thought I would join you if that’s alright.”

NL Morgan, Sec

Anders smiled as he saw Morgan enter the room, “Not at all lad, arm yourself and let’s see that draw of yours. Yeoman,” he added, addressing Rand, “Can you see the targets at the edge of the range to your right?”

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

Tracey shook her head with a grin. If Anders wasn’t so good to work with and a nice guy, she might be offended. She grabbed a pistol and holster and strapped them in. She drew with precision and smoothness born of confidence only years of experience could bring.

Rand turned her head eyeing the range and spotted the far targets. “Yes Sir.”

Rand and Tracey

“£xpertly done Lieutenant Morgan, take your place on the target range next to Rand and ready up.” Anders stood on the side of the range and grinned, “Now, I want you both to aim at these targets and aim to hit the black marks in the middle of each target. The computer will keep track of how many times you manage to hit the targets.”

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

Tracey looked at Rand, “He means the bull’s-eye. Didn’t Randy tell me something about throwing axes?” Rand shook her head, “No, logs, for distance not accuracy.” Rand eyed the target and tried to remember everything that Alden had gone over with her the night before about stance and grip and aim. She really hated all these people watching, she also really hated that this wasn’t considered a necessary skill for yeoman to take. She was going to write a letter complaining to the Academy.

Roman headed over, picked up one of the phasers, and joined the others at the target range. With a quick grin at Rand, “Whoever can outshoot me, gets… er, bragging rights.” If there was something better to offer, he would, but that worked too.

~ Cmdr Alden, XO/CSO

Tracey laughed, “Hey if that’s the case, Cmdr, let’s get Randy down here. It will be a riot to watch him loose.” She leaned over Rand, “Want me to help you beat him?”

Rand scoffed, “Well that won’t be me.” She turned her attention to the target and took several shots. None hit the dead center but they were close, she obviously hadn’t had a lot of experience or practice.

Rand and Morgan

Marcus grinned at the Commander and said, “I think I have a bottle of non-synthaholic scotch hidden away somewhere in my quarters if that takes your fancy sir?” The Security Chief made notes on the clipboard in his hand, keeping track of the progress of each officer.
