In a short bit of a walk the pair reached a engineering related compound of generators and the like the main colony area. In this case a row of eight fusion generators similar to those one might use on simpler impulse engines on a ship. Further support systems in smaller side buildings were also in evidence. Also present were the various engineering staff for managing all this. None looked too pleased to have ‘Fleets’ milling over them but rules were rules so they played along it seems. Calling out to everyone the woman spoke, “..Attention everyone! It’s that time again, Starfleet has arrived for perform our yearly colonial compliance on safety and infrastructure. This is Master Chief Karl from the USS Sentinel and he will be coming around shortly to inspect your areas of work and our power generation systems. Please make all reasonable accommodations and answer his questions. Any concerns let me know..” she said.

Turning to Karl she said, “..Alright then Fleety I’ll be in my office catching up on some PADD work let me know if you got any concerns to bring to me afterwards.” She said.

“Copy that” Karl said with a smile. He looked around for a few moments before choosing one of the main consoles monitoring the fusion generators, walked up to it, and put down his toolbox “So, can you bring up the status screen for me?” He asked clasping hands behind his back as he asked the engineer stationed on that console.

Heading into one of the main control buildings and guided to the main control review consoles the colonist engineer nodded, and did as requested. On the screen the display showed the status of each of the fusion reactions and their output. Currently they were only outputting about 60% of their total capacity since there wasnt much need to do more then that with the current colonies needs. “..Normally we run all the generators around the 60% mark to reduce our overall work load and heavier unscheduled maintenance tasks. Rarely do we have to push them up to 75% or so except during heavier inclement weather that could damage things say from winds, lightening, etc. Thankfully that doesn’t happen much..” the colonist engineer explained.

Karl nodded as he read the results on the screen “What’s the S.O.P. for overloads or any potential power outages?” He asked.
