As Randy stood in front of the Captain’s ready room, he couldn’t help but tap his foot impatiently. He had a meeting with the Captain scheduled, and even though he was a few minutes early, he was eager to get it started. Randy smoothed down the front of his uniform, a custom-tailored take on the traditional Starfleet attire. It combined a skirt with the standard uniform top, the skirt falling just above his knees and showing off his undeniably nice legs. He wore a pair of black, heeled ankle boots that gave him a few extra inches of height and a certain flair.

Despite being early, Randy felt a touch of sassiness bubbling up inside him. He knew that sometimes people might question his choice of attire, but he was confident in his abilities and his position on the ship. He held his head high and allowed himself a small, playful smirk.

As the door to the ready room slid open, Randy stepped in, his heels clicking on the floor with each stride. He flashed a charming smile at the Captain and said, “Permission to come in, Captain? I promise I won’t take up too much of your time.”

He knew that he was a valuable asset to the crew, providing both administrative support and counseling services. His sassy attitude and unique sense of style only served to make him more memorable and approachable, especially to those who might need his help. With a confident air, Randy stood tall, ready to discuss whatever the Captain had on her mind.

Rende was sitting at her desk composing a letter. She had been working on it for days. The fact her ever efficient yeoman wasn’t with her, indicated it was personal. She looked up and graced him with a warm smile. “Ah, the other En Farquharson,” and she actually pronounced it correctly, despite the heavy hint of Irish lilt. “Please come in and have a seat. What can I do for you?”

Asam, CO

Randy returned the warm smile, impressed by the Captain’s correct pronunciation of his surname. The light Scottish brogue in his voice added a touch of familiarity and warmth to his words. “Thank ye, Captain. It’s always a pleasure tae hear someone pronounce it right,” he remarked, appreciating her effort.

He gracefully took a seat across from the Captain and folded his hands in his lap. “Well, Captain, I’ve come tae discuss a wee matter regardin’ crew morale. I’ve been observin’ some concerns among our fellow shipmates, and I thought it’d be best tae bring it tae yer attention. Perhaps we could brainstorm some ways tae improve the situation and keep everyone in high spirits.”

Randy’s eyes sparkled with genuine concern for the well-being of the crew, his sassy demeanor momentarily taking a back seat to his professional dedication.

Rende nodded slowly. “Yes, I imagine after loosing two captains and the personal issues that have targeted some of the crew there is need for concern. Since I have only just arrived myself, lay it out for me.”

Asam, CO

Randy leaned forward slightly, his voice taking on a more confidential tone. “Aye, Captain. Ye’re right about the impact o’ losin’ two captains and personal issues on the crew. But there’s a bit more tae it, ye see. I’ve heard some juicy gossip while walkin’ about the ship.”

He hesitated for a moment, making sure he had the Captain’s full attention. “Apparently, there’s been some tension between Lieutenant O’Malley and Ensign Rodriguez. They used tae be quite close, but recently they’ve been seen arguin’ in the corridors. I dinnae ken the full story, but it’s causin’ a bit of a divide among the crew, with people takin’ sides.”

Randy paused, his concern for the crew evident. “I thought it would be important tae share this with ye, Captain. It might be worth addressin’ the situation before it escalates further and affects the morale and efficiency of the crew even more.”

Randy shifted in his seat, preparing to share more gossip he had picked up around the ship. “Another piece of news I’ve heard, Captain, is that one of our Engineers, Lieutenant Jensen, has been spendin’ quite a bit of time with the new science officer, Lieutenant Zhang. They’ve been workin’ together on a new propulsion project, and it seems they’ve become quite friendly, if ye catch my drift. Some crew members have started tae speculate if there’s more than just professional collaboration goin’ on between them.”

He paused for a moment to let the information sink in, before continuing. “Lastly, there’s been a rumor spreadin’ about a possible gamblin’ ring operatin’ in one of the lower decks. A few crew members have been seen sneakin’ around late at night and returnin’ to their quarters with either a big grin or a sour expression on their faces. I havenae been able to confirm it myself, but it might be somethin’ tae look into, as it could lead tae trouble if it gets out of hand.” Randy leaned back in his chair, having shared the most pressing pieces of gossip he had gathered. This wasn’t everything, not by a long shot, but it was a taste of what was going on with the crew on a more personal level.
