He stood and moved up behind Josen , looking over her shoulder. “Don’ trust the cows. . . ‘ he muttered. ” Good work on getting access. Can you pinpoint the location that message is coming from? Can we pick up any other chatter.?”

CPO Black Wolf (helm)

Amber smiled. “Yes, Sir… as in ‘hamburger’.” At his request she started searching. “If there is anything out there,” she commented over her shoulder, “I’ll find it.” She went thru the channels she knew were for the station then started spreading the search to look for any signal on the surface they could tap into.

Amber Comm

Signal searches now boosted through the interference by the colonies own comm array found one signal near the first away team in the fields/near the mining tunnel out in the field near the access point near the tunnel. The faint signal though and type range likely indicated it was some personal radio receiver for news and such, still it couldn’t hurt (or could it?) to check it out. The second signal was within the main admin building from the comm array’s computer processor itself, it too came back clean though this time and simply said =/\= Don’t Trust The Cows =/\= This time in a voice sounding like a strained woman’s voice, there was also the sound of what seemed a guttural ‘moooing’ behind her deeply frightened voice.

GM CockRoach

The communications station started beeping to indicate that a message from the surface was being received from one of the two landing parties: =/\= Cerny to Sentinel: Transport complete. Out. =/\=

GM CockRoach

Amber responded. =^=Copy, Sir…=^=

Amber Comms

A comm call came in from the Captain: =/\=Sentinel, this is Captain Zarath. We’re in the settlement near the Administration Center. This destruction looks like it was purposefully inflicted. We’re looking for signs of survivors now. Please update me with any… relevant information the sensors come up with. We’ll check back in with you in a couple of hours./=/\=

-Zarath, CO

A sigh went out of her in silence as Amber heard the Captain’s voice. Him on the surface, to her, was still a bad idea. She glanced to the Helm officer and waited for his reply.

Amber Comm

OOC: Not sure on the status of our navigator James atm Amber, if you want to continue investigating feel free to take the initiative

GM CockRoach

OOC: The Navigator is apparently unqualified for the position as he is completely lost… as to where he supposed to be.

James

OOC: You’re on the bridge james in charge of it in fact remember?

GM CockRoach

OOC: Actually Black Wolf was in charge of the bridge.

IC: Black Wolf directed to link the XO and CO together on his reply.

=^=Captain, this is Chief Black Wolf. Once we were able to get through the interference, we received two messages. A written text coming from the access to the mining tunnels near Cmdr. Cerny’s position. The message said “Don’t trust the cows.” We then received a second message coming from the administration building near your position, sir. This was a vocal message and also cryptically stated to not trust the cows. A ‘mooing’ could be heard in the background.=^=

CPO Black Wolf (Helm)

Amber was trying to find other communications and tap into whatever logs she could from the planet. Maybe if she could get into the back logs and calls…

She kept trying to tap in remotely to see if she could get any voice or video records to explain why they should now be scared of the cows.

Amber
Comm

They would both be able to hear the XO’s report to the Captain, that was prompted by Black Wolf’s call:

=/\= Captain, we’re picking up a herd nearby our position, =/\= Cerny reported. =/\= Also we’ve found a fire fighting vehicle here, where there is evidence that a colonist was attacked by at least one of these “cows”. =/\=

– Ivo Cerny, XO/CSO
