One set of blood samples was clearly human, it was about four days old. Another sample was of the local cows of an equal age. But something seemed off about the sample that the tricorder couldn’t determine, some kind of foreign substance.

Well that was odd…he thought.

He crept closer to the building doorway and once there reached out to the handle. Pushing it open slightly then using his hand at full extended reach to push it all the way.

Doc Hudson CMO

Pushing open the nearest building found him entering a boarded up shop. Inside the place was a wreck like the literal herd of bulls had run through the shop and out the back door. Several trampled bodies were present all human and likely the shop keepers family.

Frowning, Hudson picked his way over the carnage and knelt by one body. He gave it a visual inspection first then opened the tricorder pouch. Removing the hand held probe he began another scan checking for injuries.

Quinn, having seen the elderly doctor had clearly not bothered to pay any attention when back on the ship, followed him. Treading lightly she drew up behind him. She was not intentionally trying to scare him, but if he did so happen to take a fright, he might just learn to stick with on of the other team members… or take a heart attack.

“Find anything interesting, Doc?” she said directly into his ear, just as he opened the door.

When she saw the inside of the shop she exclaimed, “holy cow, this place is a mess.”

Lt Quinn Phy-Knight Security Chief

Paul didn’t so much as blink as the annoying security chief spoke. He did frown however. “Trust me kid, there was nothing holy about these cows. Looks like something put the devils fear into them and they trashed the place. What’s that old earth saying about bulls in china shops?”

Quinn could help but feel slightly disappointed that the Doc had not at least flinched. Dammit, Quinn, focus. You’re on the job and unfortunately, Star Fleet frowns upon you having that sort of fun while working. Instead, she replied, “I’ve never heard of actual bulls in china shops, but this might be a first.”

He stood and looked down at the bodies, moving to each one in turn to scan. A mixture of pity and anger coloring his expression. Then he opened his communicator.

=C= Hudson to the sentinel, I got some weird bio material scans I need someone to run a comparison on with the medical and scientific databases through the computer. =C= he said.

Doc Hudson CMO

Kohana replied to the doctor that they had indeed received the sample and it was being compared to the data base.

While Hudson looked at the bodies, Quinn started to examine the rest of the carnage, first, checking for evidence that would confirm that the damage had indeed been done by a heard of cows and second, for anything out of the ordinary.

Lt Quinn Phy-Knight Security Chief

Judging by the damages it was either cows/bulls or else something equally large and heavy. As for anything else being out of the ordinary nothing really stuck out.

Ovik wandered around a bit, looking at the debris and carnage, helping the Doc where possible. But in the end, he setup his own little perimeter watch, pacing around to guard the three of them with him.

Ens. Ovik, Security

Now that Phy-Knight was with Doc, The’lin motioned Ovik over to him as he headed to look at another of the buildings. “You think most of the damage was from these.. cows? Or did you find any signs of the damage being caused by anything else?” The Andorian was dismayed at not finding anyone alive down on the surface, but he didn’t allow that into his expression. “There’s something about this I don’t like at all…” He said quietly to the Vulcan.

As the captain inquired about the cows, Ovik cocked his head to think a moment. “I don’t see why it would be anything else. Someone could have tried to hide their own attack style, but…”

As they moved, he reached out with his antennae to study the magnetic fields of the structures, trying to parse if any of them were about to collapse.

-Zarath, CO

Feeling for the magnetic fields of the structure showed it was weakened but probably not going to collapse any time soon long as nothing took out anymore of the core support structure.

Just then a report came in from the Sentinel. =^=Cmdr. Cerny, a new tunnel was recently opened in the mine, designate Alpha-2. Logs show a red ore was discovered. It appears to be highly flammable, perhaps the reason for the burning mine, as well as causing intense skin irritation in humanoids. This is just an assumption, but perhaps it causes some kind of irritation in the cows as well, possibly making them ‘untrustworthy’?=^=

CPO Black Wolf (Helm)

For Ovik on patrol with some NE security red shirts they were around the back of the building when a snuffling was heard from behind an overly large rock. Coming around the corner was one of the local bulls. Its head shook and turned to eye them with something akin to greater intelligence then a bull should really have.

GM CockRoach

Ovik cocked his head at the bull as well, trying to dig a bit deeper into what it was doing looking at them. Twas an odd sensation. ~”Hello?”~ Ovik thought, wanting to say it out loud.

Ovik finally started to put something concrete in his head, after he separated again to take a look at things. “Captain?” He said calmly yet a bit louder over his shoulder. “We could use a set of eyes over here.”

No sooner had Ovik seemed to register the bull, when it snorted and charged! The charge was fast, and took NE FirstBlood by surprise goring him into the rock with a crushed pelvis and ribs along his center mass. “..ARGH…” he cried gurgling up blood. The bull stepping back to attempt another run at the poor NE to attempt to finish him off.
