After the floods had died down Paul sat down in his chair at his desk and stretched. He hated the start of a mission with everyone coming in for check ins and randomly a yeoman who wanted to know if Paul would remove a rather…unfortunate tattoo that he had received in a drunken bet with some buddies.

Absently Paul rubbed the scars on his arms and reaching up he removed his glasses and dropped them onto the desk. His eyes flickered to the bottle of scotch the captain had left on his desk. Now relocated to the shelf. No, it was too early for that. Much too early. Instead he cleaned his glasses and put them back on before turning to update the computer records.

Ooc: anyone wanna join me? :)

Amber was taking a break from the bridge. She came down to engineering with a couple bottles of water she had gained from the mess. As she came in, she heard the clatter on the desk and stepped into the CMO’s office. “Sir… are you all right?” The young woman’s voice came from the doorway. When he looked up he would see the 5 foot 9, black haired, green eyed, Comm Officer in the doorway with a look of concern on her face.

Paul looked up. He raised an eyebrow the smiled slightly. ”Nothing a good cup of coffee wouldn’t cure.” he responded and cleared his throat. He gave his scars another rub and then added. ”Are you well Ensign? Is there anything I can do for you?”

It was at this point, now that the droves of other crew members had died down, that Quinn chose to enter the lair of the gruff and grumpy CMO. Knowing that she’d wind up with a broken limb from her meeting with the security team, she had put off coming down for her boarding evaluation until she actually genuinely needed the doc’s assistance. I suppose there’s an irony about wandering into Hudson’s office with a fractured limb. Heh, boy is he probably going to get irate at me. She laughed internally when she recalled the man’s grumblings from back at the academy; when she had been brought to him after having fallen during a rock climb.

Stepping into the CMO’s office, Quinn, dressed in her off-duty attire of blue capris, green vest and white sneakers; with her flaming red hair now hanging loose down her back, immediately saw that she was not the only one who sought the doc’s attention. “Hey, folks, how’z it hanging?” she asked in a bubbly voice, allowing her perchance for old earth slang to effortlessly escape her mouth now that she was off-duty. She had her busted arm raised and it would only take a mere glance from the crotchety old doctor to tell that it wasn’t supposed to be like that.

Paul turned his head go look at the other newcomer and frowning immediately stood, his tricorder hand held point out and scanning. ”What the heck did you do this time.” he grouched at Quinn as he gently took her wrist to look at the arm as the device worked its magic. ”Id have thought you had grown up enough by now not to go throwing yourself off of things and breaking bones.” he continued to grumble.

“Let’s hope you gave as good as you got, Lieutenant.” The Andorian chuckled as he entered sickbay and saw Phy-Knight speaking with Hudson. The Captain was also off duty, though he wore the remnant of his uniform. (Black trousers, bloused into his boots, green CO’s tunic open to reveal his undershirt.) “Busy morning?”

Paul looked Zareth up and down and then went back to his scanning. “Looks like it’s a busy afternoon too.” He raised an eyebrow. “What can I do you for captain.” He asked.

“I was hoping you might have something to help me with light sensitivity.” The’lin watched Hudson scan as he spoke, crossing his arms.

Paul looked back across at his commanding officer, ”Well I can offer you a hat right now” he said pointing to a baseball cap on one if the shelves. ”Or if you wait two minutes till I’m doing with this young ladies arm I can do something more useful.” he switched tools for an osteoregeneretor and began mending the break.

“You have a hat that’s anatomically correct for an Andorian?” Zarath gave the Doctor an exaggerated look of surprise before grinning and taking a look around Sickbay. “Of Course, Doc, no rush…”

-Zarath, CO

”you want someone to punch holes in things for you for your antenna you be better to go see this one that works the phasers.” he said indicating Quinn as he finished with her injury, ”I’m a doctor not a tailor.” he grumped.

Looking at Quinn he rotated her wrist and examined the arm. “now you…trouble. Take a seat and wait five minutes, quietly, then you can leave. Go easy on that arm for the next 24 hours.”

He turned to Zarath. “Right let’s look at you then.” He said leading the way to the main biobed.
