Hi everyone,

This is Timothy Frogue and I will be playing Petty Officer Robert Banner.

Can someone please bring me up to speed on what’s going on so I can know where to post?

Thanks,

Timothy Frogue

Welcome aboard Frogger! Overall we’re in the home stretch of the first sim! To bring you up to speed the Sentinel was assigned her first mission a seeming ‘milk run’. She was to check up firstly on Deba III colony which is a foremost producer of quality milk, wine, and assorted mining ores from the planet and system of Deba near K-3 Station. Secondly assuming everything was a’ok they then were to help determine why the colony had gone quiet and then third pick up the latest shipment of Deba milk and wine and return to K-3 Station.

Sadly upon arrival they quickly learned the colony had been wiped out by seemingly unknown forces! The colony was in flames and so were much of the mining and farming areas. A pair of landing parties went down and investigated while the bridge crew (that’s you here! https://www.star-fleet.com/core/stf5/sentinel/posts/98553/ or the latest in that line once you read this!) began to investigate by remote means what had happened.

In short all three efforts found out that the mining efforts on the colony had picked up, they had discovered a new ore they called ‘Red Ore’ (creative right!?) which was highly flammable in certain cases but also produced a lot of skin irritation in humanoids and animals. Later the colony was quick to find that the ‘ore’ was in fact home to a parasitic lifeform which though unable to infect humanoids did infect the local cows (and presumably wild life!) making them stronger, faster, and smarter. As a result there was a ‘revolt’ of the local cow herds which quickly overcame the local populace. In desperation they fired the colony to stem the tide of advance and hid the younger population of children and teens in the mine with 5 weeks of food and supplies behind a wall of the ‘red ore’ on fire to keep out the cows.

The Landing party of the Captain encountered a bull during the investigation part and NE First Blood in red shirt security was the first casualty of the ship having been gored by the Bull. Currently the XO’s party is attempting entry to the mines near a herd of seemingly passive cows to rescue the children inside the mines. While the CO’s party is kicking in building doors looking for transport to quickly connect with the XO. Bridge side you guys just informed the NE led sickbay of the hopefully soon to arrive children not much really left for you to do though on the bridge end other then chat up your companions there.

Hope that helps you and others! Welcome aboard.

Welcome Tim! Come visit Sickbay :)

OOC: I think I will start a pre-sim check in and all that. Then I will join the sim where needed.

Thanks for everything, Rob.

Timothy
