Michelle hurried down the corridor, ushering crew as she went along towards the shuttle bays and escape pods. None of them knew who she was, nor did she know them. But one thing was clear, they were all in this together.
Her heart pounded in her chest, in her neck, in her ears. She could feel the adrenaline pumping through her veins. The ship rocked and jolted, as if it was being hit by weapons fire. The brief sensor readings they’d been able to detect from the Bridge suggested that they weren’t actually being fired upon, but with so little information to go on, there was truly no way of knowing.
Reaching the escape pod, Michelle took one last look around the deserted corridor, then climbed inside through the small hatchway.
“Prepare for launch,” She ordered, not even seeing who may have been sharing the escape pod with her. She touched the controls on the small wall panel to close the hatch.
Then turning, Michelle looked at those cramped into the tiny space. “We will make it out of this. I will not lose any more people today.”
Finding a small space to sit, Michelle closed her eyes momentarily, letting out a long exhale. What was in store for them all? How would Starfleet command react to her giving the order to abandon ship, considering her past record.
For now, she pushed those thoughts aside, focusing on the present situation.
“Check to make sure our emergency beacon is activated,” Michelle ordered.
*UKNOWN TIME PASSES***

Michelle let out an audible sigh of relief, a small smile creeping on to her lips. She tapped her comm badge.
=/\= This is Commander Michelle Allen. It’s good to hear your voice =/\=
=/\= We will be in transport range in fifteen minutes and we will tractor your escape pod into our shuttle bay. We have begun the rescue and recovery of your other crew. =/\=
Michelle gave a smile and nod to those in the escape pod with her. =/\= What about the Viking? =/\= She asked curiously.
There was a brief pose. =/\= The Viking is gone. =/\=
Michelle frowned. =/\= Gone? You mean destroyed? =/\=
=/\= No. Just gone. =/\=
