A notification was sent out to all rostered Viking crew.

ATTENTION - Ship Dedication ceremony
TIME: 1900
MAIN HANGAR DOCKING BAY BETA

TO CREW: Have all personal belongings shipped to your new quarters by 2000 hours. USS Viking scheduled to depart Starbase at 2200 hours promptly. Direct any inquires to Starbase personnel coordinator Lieutenant Cindy Poole

Lt Cindy Poole was a shorter woman with curly black hair. She held a PaDD and greeted members from the Viking crew as they entered the main hangar bay area and directed them to the large loading bay area which had been cleared of all equipment to make room for the large compliment of crew who would be attending the ceremony. It would be standing room only, but these kinds of ceremonies didn’t last long.

-Lt Cindy Poole, Starbase Personnel Coordinator

Watley arrived first, the older man had not had much to do in the hours before the ceremony was to commence. His face was glum, and he dragged himself into the hangar bay. He hated these ceremonies and the attention that came with it. It had always been a point of contention within his family. Watley’s family had always hugged the spotlight, while Max had simply wanted to stay out of it. This ceremony, as silly as it was to him, still filled the XO with an almost inappropriate level of anxiety.

Lt. Maxwell Watley- XO

Peter had managed to connect to Starfleet Intelligence to give his private briefing on the situation and then connect with his family. He had also spent some time working out his frustration of losing yet another Captain on some unfortunate junior Security Officers in need of some sparring earlier in the day. He managed to gather his sparse belongings in a small bag and made his way to the Hangar area. Already in the room, he saw the small pudgy man in a command uniform, the new first officer. He’d been unimpressed by his file and was even more unimpressed by the man in person. He said nothing, simply moving past him towards the back of the room and watched for new arrivals, hoping to see at least some familiar faces.

Mike had an interesting chat over a secure line with the admiral, that sent him on this crazy undercover mission, to find possible leaks in the Federation’s security. Mike was a bit worried, that his mission has ended with the loss of USS Viking. He failed to find any sufficient proof and he wondered if he’ll be able to get his old rank of Captain back not. The fate had other ideas though and apparently he was getting a second chance. A second Viking as well. He wondered if the second one would be a mainteinance nightmare as well.
As long as he had Kristi around, he was sure it would be fine. Maybe this time around, his mission would be a bigger success.

Lt. Mike Stone

Shortly before 19:00 the young Trill doctor arrived at the hangar bay as directed. They brushed their blue hair back with their hand as they took in the sight of the hangar.

-Zarus

Kristi wasn’t crazy about having to go to the ceremony. But as long as Mike was there, it would be bearable. She tapped the chime on his door, just across the hall from her own and down one spot, and waited. She was in uniform, for lack of much else to wear. It wasn’t an ideal outfit, but she had barely managed to save a couple things she had had in engineering in her space when they were evacuated. So she straightened her top, put a hand up to make sure her braided coil of hair was still in place, and waited for him to join her so they could get to the ceremony.

Maeve was just a few feet behind Zarus. When she arrived at Poole’s station she gave her the bag with her new Mowhawk. “Be careful with this there are sensitive parts within it. If there is anything broken I’m coming after you and your staff.” She said giving the woman a stern look.

Maeve took a couple of extra jogging strides to catch up with Zarus. “Hey, Zarus!” She hollered as she approached them. “So this is a little more interesting than expected don’t you think?”

“I read the report on the other Viking and what happened. By all accounts, it was some sort of mystical or supernatural event. The ship would disappear piece by piece. They were lucky enough to escape with as many crew as they did.”

She turned to Zarus as they stopped amongst the gaggle of crew and smiled. “At least we shouldn’t inherit all those nasty demons the previous ship had. Though I am a little surprised with how quick they turned around this old mothball.”

Engineer
Mike smiled the moment he saw Kristi. His smile was probably extra wide, since he had good news to share.

He approached her and embraced her.

“I get to stay on the new Viking.” He blurred out immediately. “And even keep my position, for now at least.”

She was the only person besides the Admiral he chatted a little while ago, that knew he wasn’t a trained engineer at all. But he managed to play his part well enough not to raise suspicion. As Chief engineer his role wasn’t as much in fixing things, as it was in organising the workforce at his disposal.

“I didn’t get much of an answer, how we were able to get a different ship so quick. And I didn’t want to push my luck to much anyway. I’m sure we’ll get some answers soon enough.”

Lt. Mike Stone, CE again

Pascal was never one to be behind with anything, he was on time and prompt. Walking into the hanger he noticed it was starting to fill up quickly, the murmurs of confusion followed him with passing members of staff, and his own confusion met with theirs “I know too little about this ship…” he thought himself.

Noticing an empty space up ahead he started to make his way towards it.
