Posted by Captain Viktoryia Ravenfall (Commanding officer) in Main sim planet “Kalika, keep the robot busy for just a few moments!” Mike said, as he ran after the woman to the console. “You take cover as well.” He said to her. Already the death tool was huge on the station. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The console Mike accessed already showed a bunch of errors. It wasn’t hard to try and add a few more fake alerts to the pods above. While at it he tried to gain access to the pods, and checked if there was a way to lower them manualy. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt. Mike Stone, CE : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The woman crouched behind one of the consoles, avoiding the line of fire. Meanwhile Mike would find that the pods would drop if the A.I. core (the sphere hanging from the ceiling) overheated. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Kalika moved towards the robot and fired a phaser shot at its chest. It was on stun, meant to gain its attention. She then began to stroll right, hoping to draw its attention to her. “Hey… you… let’s see how you like being picked on.” She growled and wished it was more humanoid. Her Orion pheromones had no affect on artificial life forms. But her Klingon tutored skills ‘did’ and she fired her phaser and moved towards it, closing the distance in hopes of keeping it engaged and perhaps even stopping it. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : When the AI announced to kill them all, she shook her head. “I don’t think so,” and she glanced quickly around to see if an emitter somewhere could be shot at to keep the hologram from forming even more. Her mind momentarily forgetting the kids suspended above their heads. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt JG Kalika Darz : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : ACoS : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The robot buckled a bit under the fire, causing it’s phaser shot to go wide and miss it’s target. The hologram screeched as it came close to hitting the emitters closest to them on the walls. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The Ultimate Squid (GMT) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Mike raised his head from the console just for a second and smiled. Kalika was doing her job as only a great security officer would. He was confident she had his back which ment.... One menu, second menu… a slide here, a slide there… his fingers ran over the console. : : : : : : : : : : : : : Power deverted from life support, to slowly raise the heat. Extra power relayed to the temperature sensor, then taken away, all this to cause even more errors in its readings. A level 1 password security access requirement put over the emitters located around the core. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Mike knew an AI would break something like that in seconds, but when seconds mattered, it just might be enough. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt. Mike Stone, CE : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Luckily for Mike, another phaser blast hit the facility, preventing the AI from concentrating on counteracting his attempt to get the pods to lower. With a loud wailing noise, the pods started to lower, depending towards the ground. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The Ultimate Squid (GMT) : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Nevin had followed Darz’s lead and took a shot at the robot with his phaser. He was not as good a shot as his COS but hoped it would provide further distraction. Now the pods were lowering the challenge of disabling the AI would be Mike’s next priority and the distraction had to be good. His hope was that the hologram would focus it’s attention on the lowering pods and the safety of the occupants. He moved himself so that he would be positioned between Mike & the security bot and took another pot shot.... : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -Akorem : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Kalika began during at various small objects in the surrounding walls. Her hope we that at least a couple would be emitters that would ‘blind’ the AI in some capacity. She saw Akorem move up protect Stone and made a mental note. Having security mememememe who didn’t need micromanaging was a great thing… Especially under pressure. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : As the pods began to lower, Kalika began moving away from Mike and going to draw the robot’s attention. Perhaps she could find a way to lure it to the hall and seal the door to keep him away from the rescue of the pod occupants. She glanced back and made sure she was in line with the hall. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : It didn’t occur to her that the robot would get between her and the room. She was only thinking of getting it out of the and away from the team. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt JG Kalika Darz : : : : : : : : : : ACoS : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Mike was done with the console. He did all he could, and he only hopped it would be enough. The pods did lover and with a bit of luck, the AI would be busy just a little bit longer. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The robot was busy with Kalika and XO. Which made it’s back unprotected. His security training took over as he moved to the robots flank in a flash. Stone wasn’t sure if he was fooling anyone on his crew with his fake tricorder, but at the moment he didn’t care about that. Protecting the pods with kids was his priority. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : A powerful shot at full phaser blast shot at the robot’s rear, then two more times in short succesion at the same spot. The tricorder then dropped to the floor, smoke rising from it. The fast discharge made it too hot to hold any longer. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt. Mike Stone, CE : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Nevin glanced around to check what the hologran was doung… : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -Akorem : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The hologram had started to reform, although, the image was even more corrupted due to the shots of the security chief. There was a groan as the robot’s ‘spine’ sparked a few times before the legs groaned to a stop. Whatever he had done, it had disabled the legs. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The Ultimate Squid (GMT) : : : : : : : : : : : : Nevin began heading towards the lowering pods. His instincts were now to check on the occupants. Once they were fine it would be time to kill the power to the AI. : : : : : : : : : : : : Nevin whilsted and gestured to the med NE that was with the team who responded by tossing the XO a spare medical tricorder. He knew the hologram was still a threat but he knew that the COS & CE would be able to take care of it. : : : : : : : : : : : : -Akorem : : : : : : : : : : The pods finally reached the ground, and started to open up, the children inside starting to wake up due to the loud noises. : : : : : : : : : : The Ultimate Squid (GMT) : : : : : : : : Mike was now weaponless, so he hurried to the XO. “Are the kids fine?” He asked. “If they can be moved we should get them out of those pods and to a safe place.” : : : : : : : : Lt. Mike Stone, CE : : : : : : Nevin gave his weapon to the CE - The engineer was more likely to need it now. “Once the shields are down, are we able to beam out of here?” he asked, “Where ever we are going the holo-emmitters MUST be offline.” : : : : : : “Easy,” Nevin said warmly turning to to the nearest child as he scanned them to so if they were able to be moved safely. : : : : : : -Akorem : : “Thanks, ” Mike said and looked at the offered phaser. He felt almost naked without one. “Yeah, we can beam out easily, once the shields are offline. Back on the ship would be out best goal. The AI can’t chase us there.” : : : : : Kalika gapped as the robot heeled when shots brought it to a halt. Phaser for from behind wasn’t something she had been prepared for and at first she thought she was the target. : : : : Setting the robot stop and realizing what had happened, she nodded to Mike, smiling. “Thanks, Chief… Looks like we’re adding you to weapons training roster. Would have for that skill to get rusty.” She laughed as she moved cautiously towards the immobile robot. She kept out of hands reach as she approached and moved to the side to see how it would react to her trying to get around it. : : “Carefull around that one. Give it another kick or two and make sure it stays dead.” Mike skillfully redirected the topic away from him and his shooting. Even with all the CE work he had, he knew only a rare few on board were as skilled as he was with a phaser or a rifle. : : : : As the AI began to come back into focus, she glanced up to try and find any more emitters she could take out. “Someone make sure we have a definitive Bean out location option.” She laughed again, “Please don’t shout it out.” Her laughter was accompanied by a sigh. No point getting the AI emitters offline so it couldn’t ‘see’ then if it already knew where they were heading. : : : : Lt JG Kalika Darz : : ACoS : : Mike went over to the console once again. Shield emitters could be accessed from it, he noticed that, but he wasn’t sure about teleporters. Using Vikings was a bit too risky unless they only send two or three kids at a time. : : Lt. Mike Stone, CE According to the console, there was an emergency protocol that would transport everyone to the nearest federation ship… as long as there was no negative input from the AI core. In order for them to safely get off the planet, they needed to somehow stop the AI from sending a kill code to the protocol. OOC: Home Stretch Guys!!! The Ultimate Squid (GMT)

“Commander, with your aproval, I think I can get all the kids and us back on the ship. That is unless you want us to continue looking for any more survivors.” Mike reported. Personally he had enough of killer robots for once, and he doubted a bit there was anyone else alive to find.

Lt. Mike Stone, CE

Nevin was moving from one child to the next ensuring that they were medically fit and offering words of comfort.

“I believe that all of the children will be here, so let’s get them back to the ship. Can you access the internal sensors from that console?” he asked. Given Mother’s behavour he didn’t expect there to be any survivors but they at least needed to use every resource at their disposal to be certain.

-Akorem

The AI laughed, “dO YoU ReaLlY ThInK thAT it wIll bE thAt EAsy? EVeryOnE elSe is dEAd, and sOOn you wilL BE As WEll.”

The console started to heat up as excess energy was being funnelled into it, apparently the AI knew exactly what they were up to, and although she could stop them by sending the kill code, there were other ways to stop them as well.
