After lunch Rende left her Ready Room, Eldorin beside her and headed down to main sickbay. Now they had just been recalled, but command was in such a hurry they skipped their on boarding. Admiral Falssay felt it was moot. “You’re so old now if you keel over we really shouldn’t be surprised.” From Human standards Rende knew that comment was meant to be comical.

She walked through the doors, “Alright now you know you have to finish this exam right? You can’t just sit around and gripe that the damp weather in Belfast makes your joints ache.”

Rende, CO

Eldoin rolled his eyes as he walked, uniform as prim and proper as hers even if it was very very out of date. He loved embracing the ‘relic of a bygone era’ that he felt he was. None of these young whippersnappers would know how to recalibrate a phase cannon on a Bonaventure class or handle the intricacies and headaches of getting the Mariner class to finally be approved by the top brass. You would think taking a Class-VII warp core and shrinking it 25% wouldn’t be that hard but nooooooooo. Elrodin was now in charge of security on this bright new ship and it was indeed something else, he was already certain he was going to annoy the CE to no end but that was something that the poor young officer would have to get used to.

He strode through, arms behind his back and rank bars gleaming while he turned to Rende and said, “While I’d like nothing more than to just complain about the damp weather my joints haven’t felt this good in years… Guess there is something to this whole starship life isn’t there? Now while I can’t complain about my joints are you going to say something about how your left shoulder has been bugging you or is the old Marine going to ‘suffer through it’?” Eldorin asked with a smile,

Eldorin, COS

Rende just looked at Eldorin, “Are you going to tell them how the tip of your index finger that got burned replacing the plasma coils on the Bonnie went numb and now it’s spreading up your hand after all these years? Or is the old engineer just going to chalk it up to a work hazard?” Rende could do this all day long with Eldorin, and she was working her way into a ‘I can suffer better than you’ match when the ensign spoke.

Eldorin was tempted to bring up the old car crash from 83’ and the fact that she still to this day had that an ever so slight curve to her spine, but figured there would be plenty of time to snip at her over little issues.

The Ensign at the desk watched as they walked in, and waited till they were done talking to interrupt. “How can I help you today?” The ensign kindly asked.
Lt. Sharvi was sitting at a bio bed with a patient, he looked up and acknowledged they walked in, then went back to looking over the patient.

Rende grinned and turned her attention away from the love of her life and gave the ensign her full attention. “Cpt Rende Asam and Lt Eldorin Asam. We’re here for our boarding physicals whenever the doctor has a chance.”
Rende, CO

Lt. Sharvi finished up with the patient and walked over to the two officers. “Yes, we can begin your physicals. Welcome to the lovely new and improved less haunted Viking.” The Klingon CMO stated, as he led the two officers to two empty bio beds. “If you can have a seat, we can get started.” He said when they approached the beds.
Lt. Sharvi, CMO

“Thank you, Doctor. I know you are very busy with the influx of new crew.” Rende, just because she could and to mess with Eldorin, literally hopped onto the biobed. She’d pay for it later, but she was not old, yet. She sat up straight on the biobed and knew there would be no end of questions. There always were when you were over 500 and having a medical exam.
Rende, CO

Eldorin gave Rende a healthy dose of side eye as she hopped up. “Sure hope that hip doesn’t bother you later dear.” Eldorin commented with a chuckle as he gingerly climbed onto his bio-bed without any flourish and flair. He wrapped his hand around his left wrist and rubbed it, the plasma burn she mentioned had started to radiating numbness to his forearm at this point and it bothered him slightly daily, but especially when he used the hand. He nodded to Rende and said to the doctor, “Make sure to check her eyes would you?”

Eldorin, CoS

Lt. Sharvi laughed at the two of them, and wandered if that was going to be him and Lt. Darz one day. He noticed the way Eldorin rubbed his wrist. “What’s wrong with her eyes? It looks like she can see enough to run the ship. What is wrong with your wrist?” Lt. Sharvi teased and asked him.
Lt. Sharvi, CMO

Rende looked over at Eldorin and smiled ever so sweetly at him. “See nothing wrong with my eyes.” As long as the doc didn’t have her read anything. Her face grew serious though. That old plasma injury worried her. For decades it had just been the finger tip and now it was spreading up his arm and the more he used the arm the worse it got. She could argue that it wasn’t safe for the CoS to have a limb he can’t use, but Rende didn’t care about any of that. She cared that it was spreading and he couldn’t use his arm if he wanted to, and he was in pain. She nodded to Eldorin, no more silliness, this was serious. “So, Doc, I got this pain in my left shoulder. Went down hard back in 2151, ripped the trap all to pieces. It’s never been the same. Sharp, ripping pain, right here,” she reached back and fingered a location along the back of her left shoulder, “and then everything around it goes numb.”
Rende, CO

Eldorin just smirked and pulled out the glasses kept ever so close to him in his pocket as he said to the CMO “These are her reading glasses that she refuses to wear. She’s nearsighted and these lenses are a -4.25 prescription. At least that was her prescription back in 2011 and I’m sure they haven’t gotten any better in the last 300 odd years. Just ask her to read the notes on your PaDD....” He put the glasses back in his pocket and understood that they weren’t just playing around. He rubbed his wrist and said “I was repairing a plasma manifold back on an old bonaventure class back in what, 2153? Well the coupling was defective and when I went to initialize it the stem bolts blew out and I got plasma straight to the finger tip. Microscopic burn but it went clear through.” He held up his right ring finger and showed a tiny black dot under a finger nail “Well it was numb to say the least but from there it’s slowly spread up the nerve track in my arm and is bothering my wrist some plenty and has raided to my elbow at times.”

Eldorin, CoS

“We can check her eyes, and we will check your arm, I may be able to find something I can give you that may help with the pain and ease of movement.” He responded to them. “Anything else I need to know or be concerned about?” He asked as he started researching his inventory of medicines for the CoS.
