Lt. Sharvi’s shift in the Sickbay was over, he headed back to his quarters. He walked into his quarters and took his uniform off and changed into Klingon formal clothing. He had set up the dining table with plates, cups and silverware before he left for his shift. Underneath the plate ware was a nice round white tablecloth with little flowers around the base. He thought Kal would like that. He ordered drinks through the replicator and filled the cups on the table, he would replicate the food when Kal got off her shift. This would be the first time they truly got to spend time together since arriving to the new ship. He was excited to spend time with her.

Kalika finished her ship and headed back to her quarters. It had been a long day and though the new ship didn’t have the issues the old broken down ship had, it was now a matter of getting used to the actual things that had to be done. Not just constantly trying to keep the lights on, so to speak.

After a quick shower, she changed into a dress she had purchased at the station. Sharvi hadn’t even seen it, yet. It was a deep black that highlighted her green skin. The halter top cut top wrapped around her neck like a wide material neck choker. The dress hung down and became a wrap around that let her legs show as she walked. The heels with wrap up details around her calves completed the outfit. The zippers up the back were hardly noticeable with the long back of the dress. Gold bracelet bangles and a gold arm wrap on her upper left arm were a match to the large gold barrette that pulled the sides of her hair back to keep it off her face as it was left free to flow down her back. Finally satisfied with her look, she departed her quarters and headed for his.

They had spent many nights together since her return. Most of the time they stayed in his quarters. It was nice, when the nightmares hit, to not wake up alone with the sting of her screams on her throat as she sat in the dark and tried to shake the images from her mind. Sharvi’s arms around her and his soothing voice, in both basic and Klingon, gave her an anchor that soothed her faster and better than any breathing technique the counselor had taught her. She was glad to have him in this world. And her memories of the other Sharvi were almost completely replaced with this Sharvi. She would never forget the other one. He had saved her life when she had arrived there confused and hurt and scared. But now that she was home, back with the man who had originally captured her heart, she realized her love for the other one had been a surrogate because she thought she would never have this one again.

She shook the thought from her head as she arrived at Tath’s quarters. “Tath Sharvi…” she whispered softly as if to remind herself, once more, she was home and she was with him. Then she raised her hand and tapped on the door chime.

Tath opened the door, and was taken aback at how stunning she looked. “You look so Stunningly Beautiful.” He told her. He had never seen that dress before, but he liked it. “How was your day?” He asked her as she walked in.

Kalika smiled. “It was all right. The usual stuff. With a ship that isn’t constantly breaking down, and crew not constantly disappearing, it was a rather boring day, all be told.” She laughed lightly and smiled at him. “You look great. Haven’t seen you out of your uniform in a long time. What’s the occasion? You said dress up.” She glanced around the room wondering if it was a party she was walking into and hadn’t realized it.

Tath was confused. He looked at his clothes. He was looking at his black pants and red button down shirt. On top of that was a black vest and black suit jacket. “Yeah, not much happened in sickbay today, but for me, that’s a good thing. Nobody’s injured at the moment.” he said to her. “There is no occasion, just date night, my beautiful.” He continued.

Seeing his confused look, she smiled. “I was teasing, Tath. I think you look incredible. Though I could be a little biased.” She laughed and shook her head. She had to remember to watch her humor around him. Sometimes it wasn’t taken right.

When he mentioned this was just a date night, her smile brightened and she stepped closer. “Then I’m glad it’s just the two of us. I’m starving and want nothing more than to spend an evening with you without disruptions. And the fact the ship isn’t going to fall apart or disappear in the middle of dessert is a plus I am certainly looking forward to as well.” She laughed and kissed his cheek before heading into the living area. “How are you settling in?”

“I’ve been settling in fairly well. Been swamped with onboarding physicals of all the personnel, and medical is so short staffed right now, and all the meetings we have with the other command staff. But in the free time that I have gotten to have, I’ve gotten my quarters together fairly well like how they were in the old Viking. How are things with security? I bet you like not having to go to the boring leadership meetings.” He responded after kissing her back. He headed to the kitchenette and put the food on two plates and set them at the table, then went and got drinks. “You’re hungry, I’m hungry, let’s eat.” he said with a chuckle.
Lt. Sharvi, CMO

Kalika smiled, looking around and shook her head slightly. “I didn’t mind the meetings. I actually miss them, to be honest. Hard to know what’s going on when you aren’t part of the Command structure anymore.” There was a bit of a sigh at the end of her comment but it was brief and she was soon smiling and joining him at the table. “This looks amazing. I’m still holding my breath every time I use the replicator for food. I half expect water to come out when I order a steak, or a shoe to come out when I order tea.” She laughed and settled down in the spot beside him. “It’s hard to relax, though. I think we all got so used to being on edge, expecting the unexpected, worrying if the person you worked with yesterday would even still be on the ship the next day.” This time she exhaled deeply. “It’s going to take me a bit to settle in. The nights are the worst. But I’m glad you are settling in.” She laughed and reached for his hand. “One of us being a basketcase is enough, I think.”

“Yeah, I am so used to the replicators not working, it amazes me everytime I use this thing, anywhere on the ship. I think I have subconsiously been looking for one that doesn’t work right.” He laughed as well. “You’re not a basketcase, hun, you’ve just been through a lot, and I will always be here for you, to help you anyway I can.” He told her before he took a bite to eat.
Lt. Sharvi, CMO

Kalika smiled. “You always were biased. But I love ya for it.” She started to eat as well, and they continued in relaxed silence for several minutes. When she leaned back from her plate a moment and lifted her glass for a sip, she watched him. He wasn’t the Sharvi from the ‘other’ Viking. Despite being two sides of the same coin, there were subtle differences. She couldn’t have pointed it out to anyone, even him, but she knew the signs. And, surprisingly, it didn’t bother her. Even more strange was the fact she realized this was the Sharvi she preferred. This had been the man she had fallen in love with. The other one had been who she had found comfort in in a desperate situation. But this one was the one she would always consider hers.

She took a long, slow sip of her drink, a slight smile curling up on the edge of her lip, as she watched him.
