After all the staff had been through sickbay for their check-ins of entering the new ship, Lt. Sharvi no longer had a reason to keep postponing his own psych evaluation check in. He headed to the Counselor’s office, walking slowly, trying to find a reason not to go. As a Klingon, he hated having to examine his feelings, and definitely didn’t want to talk about them to anyone else, except maybe Kal, and even then there were feelings he never shared after her disappearance, as he didn’t want her to worry about him the way he has for her since she returned. He was really glad to have her back, and never wanted to lose her again. He finally made it to the Counselor’s office, and the door beeped to let the Counselor know that he was outside.

The door slid open and revealed a apsce much different than the rest of the offices on the ship.

Feeling more of an old fashioned den or study than an office; it was lit in a more subdued manner than the rest of the ship and bookcases lined one wall, filled with copies and originals of many texts on many different subjects and in more than a few languages. The desk was moved, set against the opposite wall facing away from the corner, the window to the left of a person seated at the desk and allowing for a large open space in the middle. Here there was a couch and a few chairs, one of which sat in front of and facing away from the desk. A low table graced the middle of the area, and on it was a small bowl filled with softly glowing crystals that now cast soft multi-colored lights around the room. Pictures hung on the walls, some were even old photographs.

Korczak was seated at the desk and smiled as the Klingon came in. “Lieutenant. I’m glad to see you.” and he smiled and directed the CMO to a chair. “Please… have a seat. I will try to make this as direct and straightforward as possible. How does that sound?”

Korczak, CNS

“That sounds good.” The Klingon doctor said as he sat down in the chair the counselor pointed to.

Korczak nodded once and then said “Very well… tell me how you are feeling? How you are feeling about coming here to be evaluated. I would imagine that the idea of having someone determining whether or not you are strong enough mentally to serve on a vessel could be frustrating for you, could it not?”

“I feel well, I do not like having these meetings, I don’t see the honor in them when done for things like this, where all we did was change a ship, but I do admit they are necessary after an away mission, or other type of traumatic event, like getting out of some of the surgeries I perform, I could see making the patient come here to make sure they are mentally ok after the procedures.” He stated. “All we did was change a ship, I had no emotional attachment to the ship itself, just the people in it.” he continued his thoughts. “Though I will miss Captain Ravenfall, I had just started to get to know her, as Lt. Darz always protected her, and then when Kal left, I took it upon myself to protect her, and now she’s gone. But at least we did get Kal back.” He had conflicting emotions of happiness and sadness as he spoke.
LT. Sharvi, CMO

“Tell me about Ravenfall. Why did you choose to protect her?”

Korczak, CNS

“It was important to Kal, and so when she got into the accident and we lost her, I assumed her position of protecting the captain. With as long as those two had been friends, I knew it would be what she would have wanted me to do.” He stated. “And I wanted to honor Kal anyway I could, since I didn’t think after the way she disappeared, she would come back. I thought the curse had taken her from us for good.” He continued.
Lt. Sharvi, CMO

“You are not the first to talk about the previous ship and a ‘curse’. Tell me more about that. How or why did you believe the ship was cursed?”

Korczak, CNS

bump

“Up until Kal’s disappearance, I never really believed in that curse. But the rumor is they went on a mission way back at the start of the ship’s creation, and it didn’t end well, and ever since then, parts of the ship would have power issues, life support issues, majority of the replicators for food never worked properly, so you never knew what you were actually eating or drinking. Several decks were labeled off limits to everyone including security.” He explained what he knew of the so called “Viking curse.” “But it wasn’t until she disappeared and came back that I started to believe it was a real thing. I always thought before it was just what humans refer to as ‘a joke.’” He continued as he mused about his observations through the years pertaining to the curse.
Lt. Sharvi, CMO

“And where did Kal disappear ‘too’? And how did they come back? Were they changed at all by their time away? And how did their return affect the dynamic of you and your Commanding Officer?”

Korczak, CNS

“That’s a good question, she doesn’t even know. She talks about an alternate version of me, you’d have to ask her about that. She was changed, and we are working through it, and talking it through.” He stated about his relationship with Kal. “As for our dynamic with the captain, that didn’t fully change, but it didn’t have time to, as not long after she came back, we had to vacate the ship, and the captain disappeared, or died.” He continued to explain.
Lt. Sharvi, CMO

“I see. And your working through it with Kal… how is that progressing? Would a session or two with both of you help?”

Korczak, CNS

“I’d say it’s progressing well. She is adapting to the new ship and the nightmares are not as frequent as when she first came back. I think she’s taking it a day at time. No, I think she will seek you if she needs too on her own.” He responded.
